I am seeing this as the 'We're shit but we're not that shit' Cup. To the winner goes the bragging rights that they are slightly better than the other complete embarrassment to the league.

If we are to win, we've got to shore up the defense. Maybe bring in Matic to provide a screen in front of the back four and then play Donny and Fred in front of him. His legs aren't really there these days, but we don't have many options in all fairness.

I wouldn't want to see the below players start:

    Maguire
    Lindelof
    McTominay
    Fred
    Greenwood
    Ronaldo

So I'm settling with the below:

    De Gea

    AWB Varane Bailly Shaw
    VdB Matic
    Lingard Bruno Rashford
    Cavani

I know it's too much rotation but some players I don't want to see them start today, not after that weekend debacle.

Martial pictured at his home according to his wife''s IG. Makes sense, he was shocking against Liverpool, all his fault.

Thinking he's going to go five at the back here to try and stop us from shipping goals, and he would probably take a 0-0. Which really helps no one, to be honest.

We will win this, and I am trying to care , it is very hard.

    Inevitable delayed a tad longer.

Hope some players can get a shot and have a very good game, like VDB, Sancho and Greenwood (understanding he's already having a good season)

Lose and we'll probably be 11 points off the top with City as the next game. Clinging as close to 4th as we can will be the goal for the rest of the season.

Seen Stephen Howson tweeted saying he heard we might be playing a 3-5-2. If that’s the case at least get Conte in who actually knows how to use that formation.

Feck me, I still have nightmares from Italy last year where we changed to 5-3-2 and Telles was playing LCB before someone told Shaw that's his position

Ok so Utd won't win the league this year. I get that. They need a midfield. I think this Ole out thing is a bit premature. If Utd win today and at Atalanta then they are in an OK position. I think there are alot of premature spurters on here who just can't stop themselves pulling the trigger.

I have been kicked up and down the road like a can for what is a rational opinion. Lose one of the next two games and Ole should be sacked, win both and he should be given a bit of time.

How is it premature sacking someone whos teams performances are getting worse after three years?

It'll be a draw, which will piss off literally everyone involved.

    Oh, and no clean sheets.
Yep - I think a score draw is the most likely result by far. Both managers would probably be reasonably pleased with that - neither can really afford a defeat.

We lost 6-1 to a much lesser team in Tottenham last year.
5-0 to Newcastle in Fergie's days etc.

The most recent isn't always the best or worst.
Last year's loss against Tottenham was a red card for Martial I believe and away from home?

Anyway, the final score is deceiving. Liverpool stopped trying in the 2nd half. I'm convinced they could have scored another 5 but they're smart enough to keep Ole in the job ((I kid) and not see a few others carried out on a stretcher. (OP mentioned worst performances not worst results)

Not sacking Ole after that disaster class against Liverpool is a sackable offense in itself. Not the result, the performance or the complete surrender is not acceptable.

And here you want to give Ole more time. Wow.

    Howson was saying 3-5-2?

    De Gea
    Varane--Maguire--Shaw
    AWB---McTominay---Fred---Telles
    -----------------Bruno
    ---------Ronaldo---Rashford

The Ole in crowd is trying to make it just about Liverpool to make sacking seem knee jerk.
The reality is we've dreadful been every game this season, with the exception of Leeds.

If every season was better than the last then the same club would win every year. He got 2nd last year and he is still in the ECL.

I understand throwing in the towel when things are impossible but teams are streaky, nobody knows the future. Win two games and Utd are practically through to the next round of the ECL and a ball-hair away from 4th in the league.

I want him to be sacked if he doesn't win the next two games but I am happy to wait until those games are played.

We will be shit as long as we are owned by "business men" who don't care about or know about football. As long as the brand is strong -- and the sponsors are happy-- they couldn't be bothered about the actual football fans. Is Ole trying to develop his own version of "moneyball"? Oleball? That we fans are just too slow to comprehend the brilliance of? I mean, he seems to believe we are on the verge of cohesion and greatness.

If Varane was fit, I drop Maguire. I'd consider playing youngster at RB an LB - none of which will happen. But I would certainly certainly certainly start with Cavani leading the line and Ronaldo out wide. No doubt, Ole will go with the tried and tested failures
