My goodness, Jose wants his point to confirm second spot and maybe DeGea's Golden glove.

The line up looks too defensive. I hope that we win.

if this lineup works fair play to mou. Shit this would have been mous dream lineup for first leg in sevilla prob haha. Maybe sub young for shaw he would want. Really interested in seeing the heat map from this game those attacking wide areas are going to be a desolate wasteland.

really? Really. Two players who have a combined what 8 goals for united this season (even counting sanchez's goals for arsenal they maybe hit 20 combined) ? Where is the width coming from? Who will be in the attacking mid slots? Shaw and valencia better be camped the hell out in the wing spots or else west ham will be able to mark them easily. Is sanchez going to be dropping deep trying to get the ball? If so who is making the runs behind the defense? West hams defense is prob licking their lips seeing this lineup. Man some people are absolutely deluded about how important running is in the game. Swear talent and offensive ability means nothing to some as long as they run around as much as they can.
Sanchez is one of the most talented players in the league, easily more so than Martial and Rashford.

Lingard doesn’t have the ability but he done a lot more on the pitch than the other two as well.

I'm liking the lineup. Something that, especially after the Arsenal and Watford game, I wanted Jose to experiment with more.

We scored 8 goals in those two games, and looked really exciting going forward, which has been a rarity this season.

I would have made a few personnel changes to the team tonight, but as I said, I'm looking forward to us playing the 3142.

Martial and Rashford were nothing short of disgraceful on Friday. They don’t deserve a place. You could say that about a few in that XI but they were among the very worst.

Looking forward to seeing Sanchez in this role. Utterly destroyed West Ham in this ground last season from that position, might be his best.

At least you know what to expect and don't need to look forward to the game then.

These XIs are gettimg difficult to predict. Ah well, just 2 games to go.

Sanchez as striker. Jose must be really pissed off at Rashford and Martial.

Kind of disappointing lineup which most probably means that we are in for a good game!

Huge night for Shaw, I guess.

That's it for martial and rashford. I feel this has a lot to do with the MartialFC bs. Just reminds me of Tevez FC fans 10 years ago and sir alex made sure that died. Jose just making sure he does the same.

Horrible lineup, I know they performed badly in the previous match but this is a mostly non consequential, what harm would it have been if Martial and Rashford were given another chance?

I hope to at least enjoy the game and be entertained. At least Shaw plays so we will have some width on that side. Line up on paper looks bad but to be honest at this point there's no chance of seeing Martial and Rashford twice in a row so let's all try to enjoy the game and see what happens.

    Oh dear....

    5 - 3 - 2

And absolutely certain we'll concede at least one, probably two.

Think I'll just go out for dinner tonight instead of watching - and that's an absolute first !!

I agreed but it's largely a match of no consequence, would it have really harmed if he had shown some trust in two young players and given them another opportunity.

Only Jose favorites like Lukaku are allowed to play shit for over 10 games in a row (2 months) and not get benched.

But his fans would tell you he treats everyone faily, so I’m probably telling porkies.

god this kind of retort is stupid. Some people just cant seem to understand that you can support the team and still question decisions. Yeah i think this lineup is stupid, but i hope that the manager is smart enough to put forth something that works. Of course i thought that before the biggest game of the season at that point against sevilla leg 2, but was horribly right then that it wouldnt work. Ive hated lineups before that have turned out entirely different, and some have worked exactly as poor as i thought that they would. I still enjoy watching to see how it turns out and to see how my pregame thoughts have turned out.

3-5-2? With that lineup it has to be Herrera and McTominay in the midfield with Pogba ahead of them and Lingard + Alexis up top, right? Very defensive, let's hope Alexis and Pogba remembered to sprinkle their boots with magic tonight.

Feck me, what a miserable lineup. You just know the away end will be screaming "attack, attack, attack" after the 20 minute mark.

Yeah because nothing builds confidence and consistency like sitting on the bench after one poor performance.
Do you think that deserve to play? The loss was against newly promoted Brighton. It is also pretty known that playing well gets you within a chance of starting the FA Cup final, especially if Lukaku is out.

The opponent makes a difference for me. So Im fed up with them . Because they can and should do better .

Well, lets see how will the JMFC end, when he spends 100+ mil this summer and does not win anything big again. The end of the past it cheque book manager FC is nigh.

this also lumps them both in. I think martial has been trying to make some magic happen when he gets in. When you make like 5-6 changes per lineup hard to find consistency from anybody on the pitch. Funny that players like blind/darmian/rojo only get starts when mou throws both martial and rashford out there. Would be horrible to start one of them with a normal-ish lineup. Rashford deserved the bench but think martial deserved the start.

Actually, if I going to criticise on anything for those attaching choices, it will be the double standard of dropping Bailly because of the World Cup excuse, but not playing Martial over Sanchez for the same reason (Martial should make the squad anyway but you never know on current form).

And we ll have our actual strikers on bench... Lovely

Martial was outstanding for us the few times we've played 3 at the back so I'm not sure about being benched for this. It's difficult to build momentum when we don't give players chances in the positions they've shown good form in. Bailly misses out because we've got to give other defenders chances to stake claim for World Cup but Martial who is in the same position doesn't play over Lingard who's guaranteed a spot or Sanchez who has the summer completely off. Don't understand the logic there.
