I think at this point we might be reading a little too much into the formation change. So far we've only used it against other teams that play the same system - I fully expect us to go back to a back four against Middlesbrough.

One modern player I think would fit nicely into most teams is Khedira.. Not the most skillful player but has great work rate and does exactly what's asked of him. I dunno if you'd say you were building a team around him but he's reliable and you can't really argue with the clubs he's played for...

Tbh, there wasn't a lot Southampton did wrong with Hull's goals. Snodgrass scored with a great finish and then put a brilliant cross right on Dawson's head - not much the defenders could really do :P For the rest of the game they looked super comfortable.

Also worth noting he scored several of these in his time at Celtic :)
