Yeah, I've only caught the second half, and at the beginning it seemed like she just wasn't going to call any of those slight nudge-in-the-back type fouls, which is fine if it's consistent. But then she went and gave Mane that previous call, so I can definitely understand your frustration!

I think what a lot of people who hold the view of "just live your life as a gay person, don't announce it" are missing, is that just living your life as a gay person IS coming out. Constantly. Every day, and it's fecking exhausting. As a gay woman I'm forever making small calculations in my mind...

Sorry, I should clarify that I was directing that more at the people who say it shouldn't be on tv because they find it gross/uncomfortable. :)

What bothers me too about the whole "two gay men kissing is gross" thing, is that it's never said about when two gay women kiss. You guys are okay with homosexuality on your televisions as long as you personally can get some sort of sexual enjoyment out of it. That's fecked up.

I can guarantee the discomfort you feel watching 2 men kiss on tv is nothing compared to the discomfort I felt during years and years of internalized homophobia and self-hatred. :yawn:

I'd imagine it's directed at gay couples rather than individuals. At least that's the case in my experience.

Well, even if we leave out the discussion of how women experience abuse on public transit vs. how minorities and LGBT people experience abuse on public transit, there's a pretty simple reason as to why there's a push specifically for women-only carriages. ~50% of the UK population is female...

I don't hate the idea. I've had more than a few unpleasant/scary experiences on public transit, and it sucks as the situation is hard to remove yourself from.
