You can laugh but Fergie took Aberdeen to the Cup Winners Cup back when people actually gave a shit about that, ofc Molde to CL winners is a dramatic leap again from that but weird shit happens sometimes.
Talking about Molde winning the CL is sheer madness, it's not at all comparable to Aberdeen back then. Molde will do well to even make it to the group stages, and it would be pretty sensational if they go through to the knockouts.

I knew that United accepted a bid from Spurs and SAF told Solskjær that he wanted him to stay. What I didn't know, was that SAF went behind Edwards' and the board's backs in doing so, United presumably needed the money and SAF told Solskjær not to tell anyone that he told him to stay. However, after the CL win they didn't bother keeping the secret anymore...

Should be United's next manager. A manager who plays Football Manager? A transfer muppet's wet dream. Think of all the wonderkids he'll sign.

Shag. Just realised this was the United forum. Did a search, bumped biggest thread. My bad.

What on earth is going on this year.
After last season, they sold their best player, central defender Vegard Forren (to Southampton), and their best striker, David Claude Angan (to a Chinese club), without really replacing them. Still, they should be higher with the squad they have.

Nicely timed bump, for whatever reason the kit he wore in the '99 final has been placed in Dortmund's museum. They must hate Bayern.

Surely that's the kit he wore against Dortmund in our semi final against them?

That is a very dodgy looking Nike sign stuck onto a pair of adidas world cup boots for whatever reason

As a drunken 4am sidenote, Solskjaer as a coach or assistant manager at United now could be a masterstroke IMO :).

It's definitely not the 99 shirt anyway, there was no black outline I don't think on the lettering I don't think. We changed our European shirt in 97 and kept it through until the end of 99.

Aye, looks like the '97 kit. They knocked us out of the semis. Shouldn't have. We should've won the bloody thing that year, in what turned out to be The King's final season. Disappointing CL run all in all - we lost the home record in Europe earlier that season too.

Anyway, I assume the reason they've put it on display is to stick it to Bayern more than to commemorate their semi-final win in '97 (they won the final too, after all).

I speak to Ole all the time. He’s never changed from when he signed. My grandparents’ shop is just by the Cardiff City Stadium and he invited them into his office for a cup of tea. That’s the kind of person he is.
Ryan Giggs in this interview. It's mostly about other things than Solskjær, but that quote is great. Just what you would've expected from Ole though.

He's a bit special, is Ole. Unique.
