I expect the gap between 4th and 7th/8th to be pretty narrow this year. I don't think there's much difference in quality between Leicester/Wolves/Everton and Chelsea/Arsenal/United.
I think Chelsea are a littler underrated at the moment. They actually have an XI without major weak spots, though after Kante they don't really have anyone you'd bite your hand off to join us apart from maybe Pulisic (who is 20 and struggled at times last year) and maybe Azpilicueta (who looked jaded last year but was a great player before that).
Kepa
Azpi Rudiger Luiz/Christiansen Emerson
Kante Jorginho/Kovacic
Barkley/Loftus-Cheek/Mount
Pulisic Hudson Odoi/Pedro/Willian
Abraham/Giroud
They have depth at their weakest spots and the floor at those spots is pretty high since Giroud, Luiz and Pedro and Willian weren't so bad the last couple years, and my guess is one of Hudson-Odoi, Loftus-Cheek, Kovacic or even Barkley (dumb but skilled and athletic players like him often need to hit 25 or 26 before their ability to read the game catches up to their "talent") will have a surprisingly strong year under Lampard.
Their worst 100 starts or so should be strong that the other teams fighting for 4-9:
United - CM whenever Pogba or McTominay is out, probably RW and #10 too),
Arsenal - 2 defensive spots if one CB and one FB play well - which seems the likeliest outcome, and probably a midfield spot too
Leicester - Both wingers apart from Albrighton's inevitable half season of competence, N'Didi when they have the ball, whoever their weakest CB starter is.
Everton - If they don't buy Zaha, a player like Bernard is always going to be hot and cold (even though I like his game personally, it's a tough margin for a winger who scores at the rate of a defender), they have no 3rd CB and Sigurdsson is hated by half their fanbase for a reason, when he doesn't score or create a goal he's sort of a liability.
Wolves - They actually won't have obvious weak links if Vallejo settles and takes Bennet's job, I just don't think they're going to beat all the crap teams they struggled with last year, especially with their key player Moutinho a year older. Still don't have an attacking midfielder or winger worth starting behind their front 2 and European adventures will weaken them
West Ham - I'm high on them but they need 35 games from Wilshere and Lanzini each and they're unlikely to get that. Also consistency in his first season for Fornals in England a big ask. Haller seems like he could be good immediately so benefit of the doubt there.
