In what way was Ndombele impressive, or any Spurs player for that matter.

(Walker-Peters looked good though)
For the first game of the season, his first game in a new league getting a goal and assist is a good return. fecking hell its a tough crowd, I'm looking forward to tomorrow now.

Scored a goal, after we equalised looked extremely dangerous as well. Also played a peach of a ball in to Kane in the first half. It was a really good debut, positive and wanting to impact the game.

So business as usual it seems in the PL. Liverpool and City smashing teams and Spurs sneaking late victories from the jaws of defeat. It's not looking good for us, I'm afraid.

Eriksen changed that match. If he gets that transfer out of the PL, other top clubs will be delighted.

It's opening game, that's a lot of conclusions to draw on that basis.

We still have 2 players to integrate and others like Son to come back.
It's just my opinion mate.

There's Still 39 games to go, anything can happen, but I feel both Spurs and Liverpool lack the strength in depth to make a real go of it. We'll see how it pans out.

Oh my GOD! We're not gonna finish in the top 6. Oh my god, look at how superior this magnificent Tottenham team is in its superior magnificent ultra beautiful brand new stadium. feck Ole, feck Woodward, feck the Glazers.

Viva Moussa Sissokho, viva cheddar.
This did not age well nor did the Ndombele comments

They spent £30mil on him; he’s not some nobody they picked up down the park.
Yeah but that fee was ridiculed and questioned by plenty of people. Still don't rate him and I think he's stealing a place from someone more deserving.

Impressed with Kane getting off to a flyer with two goals. Didn't agree with Poch taking Winks off. Rose looks decent after it looked like he might be off. Or maybe he's just trying to advertise himself. John McGinn could be one to watch this season.

Winks-Ndombele-Lo Celso will surely be your trio when everyone is up to speed. Winks was rushed back to start the CL final so obvious how much Pochettino rates him.

Previous starters like Dier and Sissoko will revert to squad players which is how you improve a squad over time.

Eriksen changed the game, wonder if he will stay this season and leave for free like Alderwereild next season. Might be worth it if to allows them to win something. Dark horse for the league.

I said in relation to the hype. I was expecting a much better player, somewhere closer to Pogba's ability level when he's a nowhere near.
I mean firstly Pogba is arguably the most talented midfielder of his generation (perhaps hasn't quite lived up to the talent, but it's always there) so that's a really harsh expectation and secondly how would you know he's nowhere near based on one game? A game where he scored a fantastic goal and should have had a lovely assist.

I think we have two domestic cup competitions whereas most of the other leagues have one.
That doesn’t have that much impact because other leagues cups have two legs for each cup round so it evens out. The other leagues just finish later or have fewer teams. The German league for example is only 34 teams.

That's a massive stretch :)

He was lively, up for it, but he lacked penetration like a lot of his teammates. It wasn't until Villa got tired that Spurs ran riot. Other teams won't tire nearly as fast.

Oh I know he rates him. He's our number 8.

Bet Winks is injured. He was limping after that last man tackle he did in the first half and he's made of glass.

German teams started their season in the domestic cup.

Who the hell os happy about him leaving, not much we can do though.
Maybe not on this forum but on twitter and few spurs friends of mine. Especially after recent reports of rift between him and Poch. They feel now that Spurs have Ndombele and Celso, they do not need Eriksen. Problem is both are new to league, they may or may not adapt to league immediately. Eriksen is like Coutinho, you guys will still do well without him but in some matches you'll miss his creativity and goals like Livepool do sometimes.

His overall game play was unimpressive in my opinion, a little better than Sissoko. He isn't a goal scorer so although it was an important moment (albeit it might get taken off him) I'm not going to judge him as a player on that. The dinked ball was nice but I feel you're overrating it massively. Thing is that you had some people on here rating him as a top 10 midfielder in the world. I just don't see the skill set even being there for that. Admittedly, well have to see him in a more open game to see his vaunted 'box to box' qualities. I'm excited.

When he equalised I honestly thought he looked great.

And we'll see. We were hardly anywhere near our best nor did I expect us to be at this point.

It’s not looking good, but we all knew this. The club knew this yet failed to add a single bit of attacking strength. Appalling stuff.

It was so much better than Sissoko imo so we'll have to agree to disagree on that.

And obviously people rating him as a top 10 midfielder in the world already were overrating him, so yeah if that's what you were expecting already then I'm not surprised you're underwhelmed. He's a talented young cm who to me looks like he clearly has exceptional attributes for Poch to develop.

Overall it was a good debut, he was one of our better players. I expect him to get less rusty the more he gets used to the team and the setup.

The fee doesn't define the player. He isn't a particularly gifted player
The fee defines that the club thinks of the player. You don't pay £30mil for a player then praise the club for getting a half decent tune out of him.

Not to mention it was a fecking horrendous game from him. It was just a simple pass to Kane who did his usual.

He's got his uses but tbh I hope he gets pushed out of the starting XI as soon as possible.

Fair enough. I guess it's about expectations.

Yeah Ndomdele is infinitely a better player, and will likely partner Winks and LC in midfield going forward. Back up at best.
