How Spurs manage to make a player out of Sissoko is praiseworthy

FFS. People who mock opponents while they're losing should just wait till the end of the fecking game. Stop jinxing it.

Well done Spurs. Want them to have a slim chance of beating Liverpool or City to the league so they really can't afford to drop too many points, especially at home.

Isn't it amazing the shocking defending Liverpool and Spurs have faced but those kind of teams always seem to defend like champions against us
Can't speak about Norwich but Villa have been great defending for most of the game to be fair. We are just not capable of turning the screws like Liverpool or Spurs (or us under SAF) used to

Crazy that people still believe that this is actually a thing.

We’re just not good at breaking teams down like Liverpool and Spurs are.

This is basically it. We haven't been ruthless enough over the last few seasons. I'm hoping that this will improve and we can turn pressure into goals.

Did Villa have a single touch in the final third that whole second half? What a woeful performance from them after halftime.

They did it loads last season. I remember a game at home to Watford last season, were awful for 80 minutes, 1 down in half empty Wembley and still won it 2-1.

3-1.
There was a stat earlier in the game that they've come back from losing positions more than any other PL side under Poch. Its to do with their conditioning I believe.

Yeah but it's been easy for them to defend against us. Pochettino should listen to people on here and drop Harry Kane, we would have won much more easily then.

Not too downhearted by that.

Competed well for 60 minutes and then flagged.

We have Bournemouth and Palace in next 3 games so those are obviously going to be games where we need to pick up points.

Spurs are a very good premier league side these days.

Kane’s on a mission this season, you mark my words. He looks in great shape. Avoid injury and the golden boot is a stone wall banker.

Add in scoring 3 goals away in 30 minutes in a champions league semi final aswell.

No mention of Douglas Luiz rocking a classic Abel Xavier barnet?

Both Liverpool and Spurs looked average in their games this weekend.

Liverpool had to rely on shocking defending from Norwich to score their goals and Spurs had to wait for Villa to tire themselves out before taking control of the game. Unimpressive both.

City were as dominant as ever. The title will be staying in Manchester - the blue half, unfortunately.

He's had the 7th highest amount of touches in Spurs team and the 8th highest pass completion. How can you judge him on not losing the ball when Villa are sat in not even putting challenges in?
He's trying to be positive, not always passing sideways or back. First game in the PL, I will sure as shit take the performance.

Let Celso, Eriksen, Son, Kane, Ndombele. They are nailed on for top four.

I think we controlled most of the game just couldn't break them down, they tired and we took advantage. Not champagne football but we came back from a goal down, heads didn't drop.

It's opening game, that's a lot of conclusions to draw on that basis.

We still have 2 players to integrate and others like Son to come back.
