Just a reminder they're our final game this season, let's hope there's nothing riding on it

Thanks for this I guess? A Utd fan on a Utd forum.. Surprise!
Heres where youre making your mistake. In reality, Nuno set out one extreme so you have to phrase your argument to the other extreme to make it credible. Nobody is saying play stupid high lines and wave us through. They dont play stupid high lines v Chelsea, Spurs or fecking City and they regularly get convincing wins from those games. I havent asked Wolves to do anything you have stated here so calm down, relax and read what I have actually posted instead of this over the top nonsense that has left you shouting against a strawman.
And your make believe football analysts can go do one. In reality, their approach will get a draw against us at best hence theyre settling for a draw before a game is kicked.
We've only been regularly beating non top 6 sides for an entire year now who all sit back against us. Make sure to post more analysis of reports you havent seen to keep up to date buddy.
Is that your best argument? This isn’t an attack on United. It’s the broadly general view that fans of bigger clubs have that teams who play against them shouldn’t play that way. A lot of times they seem to forget how they play against better teams. Try next time, not good enough.

I mean you say that and i sort of agree but also they've scored one goal against us in the last 5 games.
I know. But every game against them is a slugfest with us trying to pull our eyes out. I hate playing them.

What utter nonsense. Ole, Jose, LVG had been regularly destroyed on here for over defensive performances. There is no bias or double standards. Plus Wolves arent some plucky underdogs here. They have singled us out for these types of performances when we were finishing 6th or struggling under Jose.
Is that the best you got?

While I agree at times we set up defensively, and when we do Ole gets stick, it can’t be denied that we still attack in numbers with real intent. There’s a huge difference in our approach and Wolves.

Not in the same style but if you watch the 2 games against City or Chelsea at Old Trafford it wasn’t offensive at all. And I am not critical of Ole. Or Nuno vs United. What I will criticise it’s the 3:0 defeat they will suffer vs Brighton. This if Potter isn’t stupid enough to give them loads of space to play on the counter. Give the ball to them to take the initiative and they will die. It’s not like if Football is rocket science. Nice boys win games never win titles.

Should have sold Neves and Traore for big money and actually improve their XI.

Traore has all the tools to be a great footballer but his decision making is terrible
The most important tool that a player at this level should have.

Traore is that mate we all had as kids that loved dribbling but never passed to you when you wanted it, and used that one good thing he did 4 months ago as justification for it.

Christ that stat is frightening. Those 4 attempts are much different compared to last season? Anyway they already were worse even with Jimenez, and no one speaks but they are really missing Jonny, not to mention Jota, Podence creates but barely scores, only good news for them is Neto, and Kilman is taking his chances too.
Just had a look for you.

Last season in total they had 42 attempts from inside the 6 yard box. 1.1 attempts like that per game. That put them 10th in that statistic. They were one of the better teams at converting such chances, which are big chances anyway and scored 15 goals from them. They were tied for 3rd if ranking 6 yard box goals and converted 35.7% of chances like that.

This season their 4 attempts so far is 0.3 per game. Last in that stat as already said. They've scored 1 (joint last) for a conversion rate of 25%..

There's not always correlation between a team excelling in this particular stat and a team being good in general but it is a really good source of goals as they're usually big chances. For the last 3 full seasons City have topped attempts like that. Everyone knows their pattern of play where they like to get in round the back and play a low ball to the far post for a tap in - that's a big chunk of those. The team behind City the last 2 seasons was Burnley, a very different team. If I had to guess they were probably creating flick ons from set pieces. West Ham and Everton are leading the way in 6 yard box attempts so far this season, both having good years. Everton with 12 goals so far is the most goals from there, 6 from Calvert-Lewin the most for any player in the league.

Yep they are considerably worse in every department, the Jimenez injury doesn’t explain everything. Even losing a lot of games there are worse squads who will get relegated.

Just watched Wolves against Brighton. I tend to find them boring to watch. They have several good attacking players, but still the tactical set up is defensive and all about the counter and set pieces. Considering them having exciting attacking players they should play more attacking style. Might be it because they always are difficult for United to play againts, but I do wish that they get down this year even if I know that relegation won't happen for them.

Lot of attention on Adama but Neves hype seems to have dipped. Was talk of 60m move to Man. CIty not so long ago.

Really feel like a lot of English fans saw him score a few bangers in the PL and decided he was the greatest DM in the world. Good player no doubt, decent ball-winner and great passing range. Maybe a big club will be in for him in a few years but right now he doesn't really stand out to me in that Wolves team. Might be due to their style of play mind you.

I’d say he would be a much better player on a team that controls the ball. It would allow him to show his passing ability more.

Very well could be the case. Him and Moutinho are really limited in showcasing their abilities in Nuno's system

He doesn’t even nail the Portugal national team line up. Good long shot and long range passes and people already overhype him, has talent but there is limit in his game. I think his potential is Jorginho.

They missing Jiminez. Surprised they haven’t gone for a striker.

But I hope they go down, it’s a long shot because the other teams are crap.

Just watched them lose to the baggies. Jota and Jimenez a huge loss to them. They will be battling relegation if they dont book their ideas up.

Neto's still clearly brilliant, but that's about it.

Even their defensive orgnisation is nowhere near what it has been in recent years.

They can't defend when they play 4 at the back. Still shocking how Nuno chose to play 4 at the back against Liverpool

Chelsea A, Palace A, Arsenal H, Leicester H and Saints A next. Jardim's available, right?

I doubt they'll get relegated but they could be at a pivotal moment in their Premier League life. Leicester went the right way when they looked as though they could go down after winning the title. Reading went the other way when they burst onto the scene.

Their success has largely been based on tapping into the Portuguese reserve of talent, but is there any oil left in the well?

Nuno's taken them as far as he can, looks a bit bored there now and seems Mendes been putting the feelers out to other clubs he might be available in the summer.

Just lost too many key players to injuries or been sold in last 6 months. I saw this happen a decade ago with my team and the overall quality dosen't half drop if you don't get the replacements right.

Don't really get why he switched the formation mid season as Boly and Coady look incredibly vulnerable now in this system. Saiss been their best defender this season but he was at left back today for some reason.

Bottom half finish this year which is disappointment for them given what they've done in the last two.

The thing is they'll be up for the Chelsea, Arsenal, Leicester games as their tactics seem to suit those opponents.

They can still finish in the top half. But thinking about Wolves just makes me exhausted.

I was going to say Podence looks talented but didn't realise he is 25. I thought he was only 21.

So, it is only Neto.

They probably had to switch to a back 4 eventually but it's ended up exposing them.
First 8 games (back 3/5) = F8 A9

Next 11 (back 4) = F13 A20

This is perhaps making things too simple, (not accounting for opposition and lots more) but you can see that maybe they wanted to open up and try to score more as they weren't exactly banging them in. It hasn't really worked and they're just conceding more.

If it meant no longer having to go through the torture of watching Utd vs Wolves twice a season I'd be happy to see them go down.
