Played much better in the second half, got further up the pitch and more involved in the build up too.
I hope he continues to do that against the teams that sit back against us, because thats where his weakest performances have come imo.

Had his usual yip then played brilliantly particularly in the second half. Linked up play beautifully.

I really liked what I saw in the second half. Mobile, intimidating, contributes to the build up massively, those short passes right before his goal were very pleasant for an eye. Has to be happy with that kind of performance, we need him delivering this form every match

Found his extra gear after his goal. His pressing and interceptions kept them pinned back.

I have slagged him off something fierce lately but I have nothing but praise for his second half at Spurs today. He did his usual thing of putting himself about. What was most pleasing was the way his game came together after he scored. It felt like that just lifted his confidence and he visibly grew, stopped misplacing passes and started being much more composed. I don't have much faith in Fred but I'd love to be proven wrong about him.

Slagged him off before the goal but he did very well in the second half. Nice for him to get a goal.

Should be fined for shaking hands with Son at the end of the game. Apart from that he was really good, took some real abuse in the Match Day thread too.

Wouldn't take much notice of that thread ;)

First 30 minutes or so he kept giving the ball away.

Great work for the goal.

Hes integral to the way we play. If he has a bad game, so do we. If hes on it, we dominate. He has his faults but he allows Pogba and Bruno to go and do their thing and that's more important than anything else he might do.

Hes from a different era than Keane and would have been shit 20 years ago, but hes very effective in 2021. Probably why guys like Keane failed in management.

not his best in the first half but was monstrous in the 2nd. i’d love to see him getting in the box more often like that!.

he can run distance so well there’s no reason not to.

Fred scored. Amazing. Linked well in that move and then finished off the rebound after Cavani's shot was saved. Came alive in the last 40 mins; not great up until then.

Any United fan in here to give him grief should be ashamed of themselves. Everywhere in the second half. Huge performance.

Without Martial, I basically give up any hope we can penetrate the box through close control and neat one-two.
He did a Fredaldo today. A real Brazilian player!

If you saw Fred score the equalising goal and the smile and happiness of all those around him, and your first reaction was to think "ok he's scored, but he's shit", then fecking hell, go and support someone else.

That second half was so good, I lost count how many interceptions/recoveries he made. Also, beautiful build-up to his goal. But why does he try to ping 50 yard balls on his left foot when they tend to go out of play more often than not :D

One of his best games for us today in the 2nd half.. capped by a very rare goal but he did his best to put it over the bar haha.. worked his socks off and misplaced less passes than usual 8/10

The frustrating thing is that this exact comment could be for Scott too. It's clear that they are both capable of this but for some reason it only comes inconsistently. I mean if Fred and Scott could play like they did in the second half for most of the time then I would be happy with them as our long term midfield pair. Not trying to criticise him though because I love the two of them and the fire and work rate they bring. As far as I'm concerned they should both be here long term no matter who we buy.

Roy Keane thought he was shite but I thought he was lively in the 2nd half, got in and around the Spurs midfield not letting them settle and showed good instincts to grab a goal.

I have no problem with Fred or McSauce being here as part of the squad because the dirty work they put in against the top teams is very good. But eventually the goal is for us to become one of those top teams that dominate the league & Europe, and we simply can't afford to have 2 players doing the job of 1 DM when we reach that level because teams will sit back against us. They have been doing that already, and those are the games where we've struggled the most because both of them aren't creative enough.
So I'm still of the opinion that we need a proper DM to make that spot his, with Fred and Scott rotating as necessary depending on injuries/fatigue/opponent. Alongside Pogba (or his replacement) and Bruno.
