Levy isn’t exactly doing his best to entice Kane to stay for one more year.

Gattuso is just a laughable appointment. I didn’t even think he’d be on the shortlist candidates never mind being on the verge of getting the job.

Wow I've been out the loop for a few hours on this. Saw the thread bumped thinking it was replies to Spurs tweeting confirmation of Fonseca but no, fecking Gattuso?

Seriously the decision to sack Mourinho is looking crazy now, I mean tbh the decision to sack Poch has looked crazy for a while now as well

Some quality face saving PR going on suggesting Gattuso was their first choice all along

What's with all these Spurs fans launching online campaigns against recruiting Gattuso? I was just getting my popcorn from the microwave.

Gattuso?

Gattuso a better coach than Parker or Potter?

What a total shambles, most likely no Kane, Gattuso as manager, largest debt of any club in Europe, if Kane goes they do not even have a recognised striker, Vinicius and Bale loan deals finished, their best defender is 32.

I guess this is what happens when you spend all your money on building infrastructure https://www.football.london/tottenh...otspur-stadium-planning-applications-20822187
It really is time Spurs just throw out a token youth team to play football that costs them nothing and focus on being Tottenham Hotspur pty ltd, a developer focusing on gentrification of aging urban areas.

Im interested to see where Spurs end up next season, mid table somewhere is my guess.

Why not? He's been doing ok, hasn't he?
It's bizarre for Spurs though, I agree, when there are British managers of similarly decent, or better, record available, like Howe.

Gattuso isn't such a bad manager at all imo. The problem for Spurs would be Mendes.

Levy’s really smart move was the one that did not go through: the Conte + Paratici combo. Levy’s really really really dumb move has been hiring Paratici as DoF, without Conte.

Paratici just sees London as a comfy staycation, he has no real network in the PL (so pursuing a lot of Serie A-based misfits) and is damaged goods in Italy as well because of the last two veeeery controversial years at Juve, after Marotta’s departure.

If Levy still has a spark of sanity, he should just sack Paratici on the spot and go for a PL-based DoF + a proven PL manager.

So anti women in football, anti LGBTQ and defends racist behavior. Quite the trifecta.

Hasnt his tenures been for want of a better word, tumultuous? If you are going to have a coach that is as tempestuous as Gattuso at least hire a successful one and give him what he wants as far as backroom staff goes(Conte). But Spurs will be Spurs.

Sion - Sacked after 3 months
Palermo- Sacked after 3 months
OFI Crete - Resigned TWICE
Pisa - Resigned TWICE
Milan - Mutual Consent after 1.5 years
Napoli - Sacked after 1.5 years
Fiorentina - Resigned after 22 days

And his managerial record is certainly not great.

it looks to me, Tottenham doesn't have the money to upkeep Conte's ambition. So far, Conte, Fonseca, Gattuso all without club. Then the rumor about Levy want Poch to go public about leaving PSG. It seems like Tottenham is trying to save a few quid, not having to buy out a manager contract.

I was just joking.
Was getting ready for popcorn time at Spurs. But looks like the fans will try to throw him out.

It's gonna end up with Howe or Roberto.Martinez. Solid but unspectacular appointment.

I reckon Levy is voluntarily driving down the expectations so that when he inevitably appoints a retread like Howe or Nuno, fans will breathe a sigh of relief that it is at least not a complete train wreck.
