Utterly pathetic performance.

He was just ball watching and jogging for 90% of the match. Why on earth do we persist with him?

People claim him to be some kind of amazing defensive midfielder, I barely ever see him do anything apart from stop a few cut backs every now and again.

Great game by Matic today I thought, some great touches and nice passes and kept position well.

Quite good. If he has 2 hard working players, he is still a good player

Only midfielder in the side who knows how to dribble and hold the ball for a bit. His composure in a younger model would be great.

Got to get ourselves a younger version of him and someone who can control a game.

He was excellent but can’t rely on him as his legs can’t take it.

The only midfielder at the club who understands how to be a midfielder. It’s a shame his legs are about to fall off.

I'll take the point.

But - this is not how a Manchester United team should play. After Ole, it's now the coaches' time. Hopefully Rangnick throws them all out.

Edit: Damn, wrong thread. Matic was good.

Criticized him a lot in the last weeks and month and all that isn't forgotten. Today though he played really well. As expected, a system where he has two runners working the pitch next to him enables him to contribute. Well played, Nemanja, well played.

Very good tonight. Some great touches to get the ball forward and some runs with the ball as well.
A younger version of Matic is what we really need in this team.

Best player on the ball today, wish we find a player who's good on the ball like him and has Fred's engine.

He is so bloody composed on the ball, the difference in midfield when he is having one of his games where his failing legs are not ruining him is almost sad to watch as it shows us how much we are missing someone who is calm when being pressed.

Those drag backs, Cruyff turns, back heels and drop of the shoulder dribbles in tight spaces were

Carragher gave McTominay MOTM and the Caf currently has a weird hard-on for Fred but Matic was my MOTM today, he did his grafting duties like the others but added composure and tried to make use of our limited possession.

He's still a quality player and can contribute this season and next, but it shouldn't stop us from going all out for Rice

He was excellent today.
The body might not do it any more but his brain is first class.
He has an appreciation of where others are and what the best decision is. If he was 10 years younger we’d be quids in with him.
It’s no coincidence he wa the mainstay of Chelsea’s midfield during their best years

Missed the game, not at all surprised to see 99% of the posts in here are praising Metic, but that a 1% belongs to @ivaldo.
And RAB crawls out of the woodwork. So fecking predictable. Strange how you go largely missing here every time he plays shit...

Fred was the cafes player of the match, while Mctominay got the actual MOTM while also getting a higher percentage of votes on the cafe than Matic, hence why I disagreed with a poster who said he was the best of the midfielders, while also acknowledging he was better in the second half. Deal with it.

I’m not here to say he played well, I didn’t see the game, he might have been utter wank, but it’s funny that to a man posters are saying he had a good game, and then there’s you  . So predictable.

Remember when Carrick was really showing his class towards the end of his career on the days we wheeled him out?

He's reminding me of that.

Was decent but he‘s so slow on the ball it’s excruciating, always so close to being disposed in a dangerous position. Got away with it today though.
