Utterly pathetic performance.
He was just ball watching and jogging for 90% of the match. Why on earth do we persist with him?
People claim him to be some kind of amazing defensive midfielder, I barely ever see him do anything apart from stop a few cut backs every now and again.

He's 33, he moves like a 50 year old and has done for a few years now.

Fred was our best player anyway. I’ve always said I like Matic, just that he’s done at top level for consistency, you won’t get him to play like today often, as we’ve all seen.
Great game by Matic today I thought, some great touches and nice passes and kept position well.
Quite good. If he has 2 hard working players, he is still a good player
Only midfielder in the side who knows how to dribble and hold the ball for a bit. His composure in a younger model would be great.
If he was 25 we would have far fewer issues in our team.

Best of our midfielders. MOTM for me.
Criticized him a lot in the last weeks and month and all that isn't forgotten. Today though he played really well. As expected, a system where he has two runners working the pitch next to him enables him to contribute. Well played, Nemanja, well played.
Whoever at Sky picked their MOTM, clearly somehow confused McTominay for him.
Very good tonight. Some great touches to get the ball forward and some runs with the ball as well.

Surprisingly good tonight and I think maybe our defensive shape helped him. He's not the most mobile but still he reads the game well

He is so bloody composed on the ball, the difference in midfield when he is having one of his games where his failing legs are not ruining him is almost sad to watch as it shows us how much we are missing someone who is calm when being pressed.

Carragher gave McTominay MOTM and the Caf currently has a weird hard-on for Fred but Matic was my MOTM today, he did his grafting duties like the others but added composure and tried to make use of our limited possession.
If only he was mobile. I think he's class other than that
He's still a quality player and can contribute this season and next, but it shouldn't stop us from going all out for Rice

Was decent but he‘s so slow on the ball it’s excruciating, always so close to being disposed in a dangerous position. Got away with it today though.
