It was never about transfer fee, it was more about wages. When UTD wanted Batistuta he was on triple wages than our highest payed player. We lost so many players because of hagling and staling, Ronaldhino and Hazard hurts most.
I think that you have to distinguish between the Edwards era and the rest. Edwards was solely focused on winning the EPL (he said so himself) thus his efforts focused solely on being the best in the local pool. Kenyon widened the wage structure especially after Keane's near departure to Juventus because of salary issues. Gill was an exceptional CEO up until the Glazers debt started weighting hard on us. He might say that the Glazers had never said no to signing a player. There again we were replacing the likes of Ronaldo, Giggs and Scholes with the likes of Valencia, Young and Cleverley. Gaz lived throughout all eras (mostly). If SAF wanted to replace him then he would have had all the budget and the opportunity to do it and the media would be all over it. Every man and his dog knew that SAF was never really thrilled with Cole and was aiming for a top quality top scorer instead (Shearer, Batistuta, Salas and RVN)

Regardless of whether it's ETH or someone else, I don't think recruitment under INEOS is going to continue to be manager-driven.
And rightly so...
It's been ridiculous the way the club's Scouting & Recruitment teams have shirked their responsibility and thrown it to Ten Hag like a hot potato.
I'm only disappointed that we haven't heard of wholesale sackings in those areas yet, and as for player Negotiations.....?!?!:lol:

Big day ahead?
Ratification followed by DOF/PD would be utterly orgasmic.

Kind of in a state of apathy with the club until the takeover is official and we see more movement at the club.

The drip drip effect is a little annoying, the season is a write off and there isnt much to play for as top 4 looks a way off and were out of the CL, seems the FA cup is our best bet which would be amazing but just feels like were treading water this season until the big actions happen from INEOS and the new version of united comes.

I find myself a little less interested in games even the west ham game which i loved the play and general performance but it felt a little hollow as ETH could lose the next 2 games and its back to where we were.

Im looking for that seretonin from new structure where we will be headed as a club and the new look united is in action.

Were witnessing the last dregs of the old era and I cant wait for the next stage.

Sort of like when the PS5 was a month away and you were still playing the PS4 its noisy, plays great games and kicks out dust and heat, you just want that new console and that fresh feeling.

Sorry for the ramble.

Would the announcement for Ratcliffe/DOF need to wait for the New York stock market to open...yada yada or something like that?

Is it true that Raines £25 million fee for the 25% sale is being paid by the club and not the Glazers? I heard this yesterday.

Yes, because it is Manchester United PLC that hired Raine. The Glazers would not have been able to do this nor are they able to pay it as it becomes a conflict of interests.

Cant touch category: Garnacho, McTominay (I want him as a squad player), Shaw and Hojlund (the guy has been unlucky and Im very happy he has been scoring because he has been working his socks of for us gotta give ETH this one)
Want them to stay but are not in the above category: Rashford (my favorite player but has had off field issues), Mainoo (still dont see the full potential aldo I would be happy to see him another season), Greenwood (the man is cleared and is eligable to play football again) and Bruno (my memory is not short and he has been a good servant of the club, I can see him doing much better with a competent manager)
Everybody else can leave at this point

Not even taking the piss with this, but there are never any City fans mulling around near the Etihad outside of the 90 minutes of football every other week. What does the Etihad have that makes it a one stop shop?
Tbh they have sportscity and they also have the campus which and the new arena. All this is funds that help city with their books.

They do have lot of outdoor bars for match day etc.

Its an opinion innit? No need to be a douche about it. If Fletcher could have been a squad option so can McTominay who is a greater goal threat. And why dont you write something constructive so you can call yourself a full member

Fletch was a much, much better player than McTominay. He was more than just a squaddie - was at times the main man in a serial title winning team. Can't imagine McTominay starting for many (any?) teams in top ten.

I as a full member will tell you that McTominay is not even on Darren Gibsons level nevermind Darren Fletchers.

It doesn't matter does it? There is too much nitpicking going on the CAF and at least I gave my reasons why I would keep Bruno and McTominay and in what capacity I would stick with McTominay.

When is this ratification happening then? I’m guessing first thing tomorrow morning if we lose today to soften the blow?

Ratification timing is determined by the league, not the club.
But isn't ratification a private notification to the ckub through lawyers? In the past have the FA made their own announcements?

I would imagine INEOS would want their PR people putting their spin on the full announcement with the confirmation that the FA checks have been successfully traversed as just being mentioned further down the press release.

Are these players playing for their jobs now or something? We've been on fire since Jimbo visited the training ground.

I'm not sure exactly how the decision will be released - it makes sense that the league would inform the club of the decision beforehand. And maybe the club would then make a public announcement. I only meant that the process itself and the timing of it's completion is under the control of the league.

There's a good description of the three phases of the process here: https://www.efl.com/governance/acquisition-of-control-the-owners-directors-test/

"First, there is the Owners’ and Directors’ Test, an objective test where prospective owners and directors have to evidence the fact they are not subject to any disqualifying events. The disqualifying events are clear and set out in the Regulations.

Second, the Club and prospective owners must submit Future Financial Information (FFI) to demonstrate how the Club will operate over the period ahead, from which any additional cash requirements to support the running of the Club can be identified.

Finally, any potential owner must demonstrate to the EFL the ultimate Source and Sufficiency of Funding which will underpin the purchase and future operations. Or in simple terms, how much money they have and where it has come from.

Only once all Regulations are satisfied will the EFL issue clearance for any change of control."
