I thought it was some random fan wearing villa gear not the assistant that was hurling abuse at Hojlund. Was it someone from Villa’s bench?

Yes, but did he need to do it right in the face of one of our players? Seemed deliberate.
He did it the second he scored, from the very place he was standing. He wasn't even looking at Onana doing it, he was looking at his own fans.
They just equalised, he was already in front of fans, probably didn't want to waste time.

The people defending him seem more sensitive. Taking the piss out of opposing team players is pretty much the norm.
It's poor form, in my opinion, but whatever. We got the last laugh.

We should look to sign him, or a player like him to replace Casemiro. It's weird how many good DM's Brazil is currently producing.
Finding a relatively tame celebration offensive or inappropriate or disrespectful is certainly being overly sensitive about the situation.

Celebrating is fine but doing that in the face of Onana and Varane was over the top and pretty dangerous in inciting a kick in his mug which is what he deserved.

You're probably right, but I'm pretty sure that had Bruno Fernandes done that celebration in Emi Martinez's face, we'd never hear the end of it. In fact I'm certain it would be out own followers most vocal with the criticism.

It's fine to celebrate in front of opposition players* but the reason barely anyone does it is because there is always a massive risk of insta-karma.
* The idea that instantly celebrating as he scored was some sort of celebration to the Villa fans is hilarious, literally no player ever does that -- he was clearly goading Varane and Onana. To the point where Varane (normally a pretty cool and unaffected guy) had to be stopped by the ref for complaining and going after Luiz. But as I say above, it's fine. If you dish it out you always run the risk of getting it back. And he did.
