Considering Celta player was on the ball and Lamine went into his shot path with his back, seeking for contact, that for me is not a penalty. But the absurd thing being was the repeat. Half a second to early and less than half a meter from the line, because Lewandowski stopped his run just before kicking the ball ( paradinha ). Followed by repeat in which same thing happens, while also Rapinha enters the box early.
Fran Beltran was not on the ball. There is a dispute over it, even if Beltran doesn't know there is one, and the Celta player kicks Yamal who is the only one touching the ball. It is unfortunate, but it is a very clear penalty.

Also, if you look at Beltran before trying to kick the ball he is looking up and does not have a good picture of which players are around him. Awareness is very important in football and Beltran had little of it in this play.

The rules (whether IFAB or league rules, though I haven't checked La Liga specifically) are extremely simple: if a teammate enters the box and the result of the penalty favors them, it has to be retaken. It should have been retaken twice last night.

However, it's been way more common all over the world (and not just in Barcelona games) to retake penalties only when defenders enter the box if attacking players' offenses are not 1) absolutely egregious or 2) directly impacting the result (by playing the ball after a save for example). I assume there are ref guidelines about it.

Of course he does not know considering Yamal is behind him initially. Nobody is doing 360 look around in such situations to see where the players are considering you are in the box while ball is in the air. You are trying to make a clearance ASAP. Meanwhile the interesting part being Yamal is going directly in-front of the Beltran while also rotating his body instead of going for the header. To me that indicates going for the contact.

Seeing such penalties given while Vinny and Bellingham are getting butchered on regular basis and refs are just dismissing it and say play on... Well...

The guideline here is, lets make it happen that Barca finishes at CL spots. Because honestly outside of some crazy scenario that Madrid goes full meltdown while Barca does 180, they are leaking simply to much goals while playing absolutely attrocious to finish top 3, and possibly even top 4 if Athletic goes the extra effort.

Barcelona had 5 points on 5th place prior to this match, I don't think anyone is panicking right now about them missing top 4.

The fact we have Madrid fans agreeing with the initial penalty means it was not some shocking decision, however you think it should have been reffed.

Dummies

Kinda tells the story of why Real/Carlo has such a poor league record. They can’t be bothered.

Maybe we are not that bad: Athletic 3 - Girona 1 with 30 minutes left.

We’ve been getting results, despite the injuries. Can’t fault them much for that stinker. Bound to happen. But was talking about what our issue is generally in the league. I think it is purely motivation. You could even see it in our previous teams. Like Ramos would lose the plot against Valencia and become a brick wall in the CL against Bayern This team has the same, maybe it is a Carlo thing.

Good thing Girona is losing and Barca is struggling. Because I do expect us to drop points against Valencia. Hopefully a win against Sevilla.

Carlo will soon complete three seasons in his second era and if things go as they should he will have won 2 leagues in 3 seasons with a big chance to have his best squad in years with the coming of Mbappe, Endrick and Davies. I understand that lack of motivation may have been a factor in the past but I don't necessarily see that being an issue now. All the contrary, the team will be stacked with very young, talented and hungry players and I don't see other clubs being able to match that mix.

Real Madrid have 62 points from 25 games, which extrapolates to 94 points over the full season. That would be Real Madrid's third highest point tally ever if achieved. Don't think there's anything to criticize here.

(tbf, RM won't finish with 94 points)

Sevilla complains to the Competition Committee about Real Madrid TV's video against referees.

- Real Madrid television this week criticised Díaz de Mera Escuderos and González Fuertes, the referees appointed for tomorrow's clash at the Bernabéu.
- During the week, and as has become the norm this season, Real Madrid's official channel took both referees to task, recalling past performances this season and in previous seasons in which they have allegedly harmed Ancelotti's team.

In terms of points, no. The team's play has been mediocre.
The team's plan is to pass balls to Vinicius and let him go forward again and again to see what comes out.

Vinicius Jr. has missed 12 games and Real Madrid won 9 of them drew 2 and lost 1 so I think there's more to the plan than "giving the ball to Vinicius Jr."

True. We also have "give it to Bellingham" and "give it to Rodrygo" and "give it to Brahim"

Works like a fecking charm. No need to try reinventing the wheel. As Gigi Simoni used to say "give it to Ronaldo and celebrate"

Interesting. Did you notice any stylistic or tactical change in those games?
Continuing the strategy of ‘give it to Vini’ certainly didn’t work; with players booting the ball into the stands towards him.

Will have ticket for Betis game. Should be Modric last for Madrid at Bernabeu (could play one more for Real if they go to CL final) and Madrid should celebrate La Liga.

Will also say am his cousin which am not but why not have free drinks as well.

It won't be his last game with Madrid. Or his second to last either

So Savio is definitely joining City next season. He's absolutely brilliant and will be unstoppable in England. More City success, fantastic
