If we'd spent a few quid on him you'd just laugh and throw him on the Bebe and Obertan pile of cock ups. But £80m. That stings

At his very best, he's invisible. At his worst, he's abysmal. 100% needs to be shifted on in the summer - and we are just going to have to stomach the inevitable loss in terms of money. What a disappointment. Such a poor signing.
Going by our track record we will keep him, apart for Di Maria we rarely sell players where we have paid big fees for them. It's part of the reason the club is such dire place.

One of the few players who annoys me just by being here. The club pays this guy approx. £200k per week to '' play '' football. Honestly i'd take Semenyo from Bournemouth over him. Ten Hag should be sacked just for this purchase alone.
We could've bad Nico Williams, Kingsley Coman, Olise, Rodrygo and basically any RW in world football gift wrapped and delivered with a nice thank you note for £85m. That's how much we blew on this utter fraud. He has no place in this team and probably doesn't realize how lucky he is to be here yet. Eredivise/Turkish league level player at his absolute best. Nowhere near top level PL quality and yet he was our star signing last summer. Manchester United Comedy Club

Every appearance, every minute he plays only showcases how poor ten Hag’s thought process is.

Even forgetting the price tag as you said, he's just poor. He's 24 , but he can hardly beat a man, he has no right foot, he can't cross the ball ... Yeah

Weve had some dross signings but he has an argument for biggest waste of money for united.

Undoubtedly United’s worst pound for pound signing in the club’s history but arguably the worst in premier league history. Can’t think of many worst.

I don't recall him doing anything bad today but I've already started to phase Antony out of my mind

He’s gone from my most hated United player to the player I feel sorry for the most. It’s really not his fault that he’s painfully out of his depth.

Have we ever had a player in the attack have zero goal contributions by this time of the season playing as many games as he has?

He’s just as bad coming off the bench as he is as a starter.

Not even close to being a player suitable for any club wanting to compete in the Premier League, whoever was responsible for bringing him to United at any price should be embarrassed, and whoever thought it was a good idea to pay £80 million plus, needs to leave the club.
One of quite a few financial blunders that have made no sense in the last few years.

Antony was better last season. And I'd give him 6/10 for last season as he was still getting used to PL football. Thought he could develop more this year but his limitations were always a worry. When he made his debut against Arsenal, I was slightly worried. He scored and that was great but other than that he didn't do much and all his dribbling attempts were unsuccessful. Not much has changed, year and a half later you still don't expect him to beat his man and do something significant.

Good workrate, does well in defence but he was signed as 90M winger. When ten Hag gets sacked, spending huge amount of money on Antony will be one of his crimes.

Yeah if we spent even 20m you'd be like "eh he's not a good enough squad player should probably just move him on". For 4x that it's sackable .

People love to have Antony, what the feck was he meant to do today?

We got our arses handed to us.
And he was brought on fresh to try and help us. That he failed is no great surprise. That people are irritated by it is no great surprise either. Not when it’s yet another appearance with feck all to show it.

I feel like it's pointless talking about how terrible he is.

I already know it, you already know it, ETH now seemingly knows it, I suspect the only person that doesn't quite know it yet is Antony... Yet.

It's not about today it's about his price tag and whole Utd career(big word in his case).
At least ETH realized how bad he is and he's using him only as a late sub.
ETH should never be given such credit given he managed him at Ajax for two years.

It's like crediting a 16 year old for finally learning how to count to 10. Well done, but you're still thick as pigshit.

in case you needed some more dire stats:

Antony has 4 goals and 2 assists for us in the PL in 46 games (2762 minutes), that's 460 minutes per goal contribution, 15 MIL per goal contribution.
Elanga has 5 goals and 7 assists for Forest this season in the PL in 26 games (1813 minutes) that's 151 minutes per goal contribution,1.5 MIL per goal contribution.

in conclusion, Forest got a 3x better player for a tenth of the price.
this transfer currently out-flops Hazard to Real and that's saying something.

Antony is worse because at least Hazard and Sancho were transfers based on them actually showing great productivity in good leagues.

In grief counseling it's called "denial stage". Erik is in denial.

Antony has been here for two years. The only thing class about his transfer was just how badly Ajax owned us on this shit transfer.
You can thank Murtough for that.

Worst thing is if you contextualise the stats it’s even worse.

He scored 3 in his first 3 games. After this (Since October 9th 2022), he has 1 goal and 2 assists in 42 PL games and two of these three goal contributions came in the same match away to Forest.

After his start when the novelty factor was still in play and teams didn’t know how one dimensional he was, he’s been a total non factor in the PL.

Antony has no goal contributions in 40 out of 45 PL games played. Absolutely shocking stuff.

Is he the biggest flop in PL history considering his fee? Off the top of my head I can't recall a player that made such a low impact, close to zero input since he's arrived.

Nah there’s plenty in the same bracket. Pepe, Lukaku and Kepa (to Chelsea) etc

Bad investments in the Premier League, there must always be the Fernando Torres to Chelsea.

He is a ridiculously limited player and we over paid by at least £50M, as bad as he is, ETH saying he is unplayable when on form is just a sackable comment in itself. Antony will never be good enough for a top half team in the PL.

Lets see if we have learnt any lessons from the last 10 years and move him on for whatever we can get for him, or if predictably we keep him indefinitely and pretend he his a great player!
