I was at Old Trafford for the Fulham game and couldn’t believe how bad he was . I came on here that night and couldn’t believe some of the comments saying he was good , decent, ok etc . You see it different at the game to be honest.
The standout for me was when he got dispossessed in the 1st half that lead to a counter and an Onana save . He walks up to Onana and Onana says something to him Casemiro just bursts out laughing . Unfortunately he couldn’t give 2 fecks he’s won it all and now he’s here for his last big pay day. And no amount of kissing the badge at Forest away at the end of the game will change that .
We should have given him a 3yr contract at most but what the club did was sheer stupidity.

His injury felt like a huge body blow this time last season, however has been awful since return against Spurs back in mid January

Looks to be playing with an injury for a while. So Amrabat (shudder ) to start v Liverpool?
Depends if EtH feels like rolling the dice with Mason Mount. More likely if Rasmus is fit then we’ll see Scott playing in a deeper position that he’s entirely unsuited for.

He has not been great but results did improve when he came back from his long injury that he had during the first part of the season. I dont think this injury is one of those blessings in disguise people like to mention. Especially if it means that McT will have to start now....

There’s nobody equivalent to replace him, it’s nothing but bad news. McTominay will be asked to do the job.

When Real Madrid sell one of their long time starters who used to be an integral part of the team but is now at that age where you never know when he might fall off a cliff, people saw nothing suspicious about that?

First LaLiga game of the 22/23 season he played 7 minutes, indicating he had somehow fallen out of favour. Still nothing suspicious?

Old trusty Perez just needed the cash and definitely didn't know something we didn't?

Did you see something “suspicious” when they sold Sneijder and Robben? How did that work out for the clubs that signed them?

They weren't the same age, read again. They were around 25.

Quite naive to think we would get the next Sneijder/Robben.

Of course Madrid does not get rid of players in their prime, but it doesn’t mean they still can’t do a job for someone. Did anyone actually think we were getting peak Casemiro? He was good for us for most of last season, and he’s not being managed well at this point. Ten Hag is leaving him exposed too often.

We all knew at the time that it was a panic buy and that we wouldn't be getting peak Casemiro throughout the duration of his 4 year contract. However, as we saw for the majority of last season, he still had plenty left in the tank to be a top PL midfielder. The drop-off this season has been significant. Also, unlike Varane, he barely missed a game through injury at Madrid.

There was a moment at the end where he was in a lot of space but he couldn’t run so had to slow it down, it was the ultimate reminder of what we have become. A nice retirement stop for some free money

Played the right ball for Mount's goal, wasnt that difficult but at least he didnt mess it up

He was doubling up with AWB at left back on the goal. They didnt do particularly well and AWB lets the cross come in too easily after Casemiro gets beat too easily

Mount heads it away and then Casemiro comes to try to help Lisandro with Toney when he gets the ball. Casemiro covers if he moves away from goal but he turns and goes at the byline where Lisandro does a poor job stopping him and getting the pullback

I know people will want to blame him for the goal because he is our DM and he is on the pitch but he does try to do the right things in that phase of play and with him being occupied first helping AWB wide and then making sure Toney doesnt have an option to go backwards, his other midfielders need to do their jobs also and pick up the deeper players like the CB who scored... Mount switched off and was poor positionally and McTom had dropped all the way into his 6 yard box in front of the keeper to try and block it and failed. He also did get beat before the initial cross so if he had won the ball instead he could have relieved the pressure. But he could also have fouled and then we would have had the cross come in anyway

How many times did he try a lunging tackle and just get nowhere near the ball or player and take himself out of the game?

You still see flashes of the quality and anticipation of an all timer of a DM but physically he is near done. Don't see any point in keeping him moving into next season.

He’s finished, take whatever can get in the summer. Was clear from very early on this season his legs had gone, we need at least two midfielders in the summer.

Sell the fat feck to Saudi. Get whatever the feck we can from him and Varane and start again. Absolute waste of space.

The broken fingernail which kept him out vs Liverpool must be really hurting him.

I hate how predictable it was that he'd be a terrible transfer. Woeful.

There were multiple occasions he made the decision to just jog back as players ran past him, you had players running from behind making up 15-20 yards while he was strolling back.

Not good.

Had a poor game. Probably best contribution was sticking up for Mainoo after Enzo caught him in the face and no freekick was given

He wasn't good, yet as soon as he went off, our midfield went to utter shit.

0 tackles and 0 Interceptions from our £350k a week defensive mid. But at least he managed to get 1 clearance.
That's not true he tackled Gusto on the touchline second half at least.

The first player to be replaced this summer. It is so obvious that my brain hurts.
Even after a poor performance he's not even close to that.

We have CBs who cant stay fit, only Maguire has played well and despite Casemiro having some performances like today he's still our best CM other than Mainoo. So we have Eriksen and McTominay to deal with before we even think about losing one of our 2 best CMs

Must be 1/10 he's playing for a Saudi Arabian team next season.

He's been a great player in his time and did a solid job last season but I was listening to Jon Champion and Lee Dixon and they were laughing at his attempts to track back in the first half when the wrong side of the play.

He'd work better as a sub for last 10/15 minutes when there's less space to defend as he can still head away crosses here and there.

I like him, I’ve defended him and he’s been asked to do an impossible job at times but he shouldn’t have been subbed in the first half when Jackson jogged past him with the ball.

Plays like a guy who has won everything and doesn't have the drive or fire to kill himself trying to finish 5th.

Great news is we get to watch him for another 3 seasons! the 26/27 season is gonna be a sight to behold! ;)

ETH and the board going from De Jong to Casemiro was a huge sign that we again had no concise plan.

Massive difference in the profiles of players they are.

Casemiro should be booted in the summer. I was getting attacked on the cafe when I said I would have moved him on last summer for a good offer. It was obvious to anyone he'd start to decline soon. Players of his style don't typically have abnormal longevity.
