Cant remember him not conceding possession when he had it.
He played each of Antony and Garnacho in on goal with the keeper, taking his time and playing the right pass. He does that better than most of our attackers. He loses the ball more often because he’s never in the right position and the midfielders never know which way he’s going.

Do I need to tag all those who were giving it when he had his purple patch?

I can’t see him being a striker to lead the line unfortunately, doesn’t have what the likes of Toney and Watkins have in their locker. Need a new striker in the summer.
Yeah he's a run onto the ball type of striker, would be amazing for a side like Dyche's Everton. His all around game is just ok.

Some bad and some good. He played a lot of good final balls into his team mates.

Very bad aerially but a lot the things into his feet, he did well to do something progressive with it.

He will be great in time, anyone writing him off after seeing what he can do just earlier in the season, is having a laugh.

I know patience is something that doesn't exist in modern football, but let's try just a bit.

He's not long returned from injury. Also, he's 21 in his first season in the league and you're comparing him to two 28 year olds with multiple seasons in the league. Stop being so stupid.

He's got all the tools to be a top striker and is young, coming to the end of a first season started slow dueto injuries and a fewduring the seaso ....

But, its too early to talk of signing back up strikers for him.....we need to be signing competition for him. Doesnt need to be a huge signing, I would like a pacy striker that can carry the ball as when things arent created for Rasmus he struggles, so aalternative option is needed

Yeah, everything looks so difficult for him at the moment, no rhythm. How can he find rhythm in the madness that surrounds him at the moment? I like him but he's struggling, no doubt.

It doesn’t matter, he’s not going to develop the technical skills needed to be truly top level, you can normally tell from age 21/22 and he doesn’t have it. If you give the ball to his feet he looks clumsy and doesn’t hold it up or create chances for himself. He’ll be a good striker but if we’re competing with City and Real that’s not good enough.

edit: before anyone brings up Harry Kane, look up videos of him at Hojlinds age, whilst you couldn’t predict he would become a great goal scorer, you can see his hold up play, ability to take the ball to feet and turn and find a pass even in his younger days.

He’s an absolute donkey,

He needs to completely transform every aspect of his game to become a top class striker.

Still struggling to see the technical ability needed to be a top player. If he’s not scoring he offers very little. He’s a bit Lukaku-lite.

The new lingard, combine his purple patch before injury and his age and he will be able to dine out on it for the next 4 or 5 years with our low standard fans.

Surprised at the criticism and those writing him off, completely isolated with no service or support, and up against one of the CBs in the world.

Because he didn't score.

Difficult up there on your own with no support and no service. But he still played in a couple of chances for Garnacho and Bruno or Antony maybe.

Still coming back to fitness after injury. He'll get some more goals.

If only we had a Garethw to man manage and motivate our players, we'd probably dominate the league

I thought he did alright today. Worked his ass off, held it up decently, competed well.. what's the complaints for? You think anybody is gonna dominate Van Dijk?

This is Caf, we don't have any patience here and only judge player based on his last game. Flip-flop Cafe.

So buying osimhen and frimpong? Can’t see it happening under SJR.
Plus osimhen would want to be first choice (on a huge wage) and he’s not the type that will hold the ball whilst others come into play. So you’re paying huge transfer fee, signing bonus, salary to gain someone who mostly hovers around the box. Completely different profile to Hojlund.
we need to think about the profiles of players to build a side not just chuck money at whatever the latest big names are
Watch Hojlund tiday, he’s still learning the game we need a experienced number 9

Excuse that he didn't have service is valid for lack of chances/goals but not for his general contribution. Late on every ball and lost most of duels against Pool defenders. This was bad performance.

Who was the member who quoted many of us when Hojlund was on that purple patch? He's way too raw of a player for such a club
Deserved quotes, as will be recent ones in the future.

Writing off a young player in a new league this early, while playing in dysfunctional team, is beyond stupid.

Osimhen can be exactly what you described he isn't. It's in his skill set even if he isn't aesthetically a pleasing player

He’s trying to play his way back into form again, give him a break. It’s not like it’s his fault that there is no squad alternatives

Be more involved. Remember Toney week ago? Who bullied our defenders?
Control the ball, find space better, open yourself better for pass and things like that.

Do you think SJR and his team are going to spend 120m, plus 250k a week wages & signing on fees to buy a player who will need to change his game? Let’s get realistic lads

IF we were going to buy a striker for more than 40m then Toney would be a better fit for how we play and be someone that Hojlund can learn how to use his big frame from

He looks like a player rushed back from injury, not helped by the fact Martial is (surprise surprise) injured too. He desperately needs a reliable older striker next to him to take the heat off him.

Some of you guys are the absolute worst. Short sighted idiots. That was one of the best teams in the world and he worked his ass off
Yep. In addition how many chances did we create for him? So let’s spurt our budget on osimhen and feed him no chances too

Let them, they will enter quotes of shame in the future. It is like lot of them have gold fish memories.
