He's very palatable for the masses and a decent rapper, he's not on some DOOM, Black Thought, Nas, Big L or Scarface level of straight rapping with countless lines, storytelling and bars but he's very easy for big audiences to digest.
Obviously he's nowhere near the best in that aspect, but even rappers much better than him can have bad periods. And I still maintain that he can be very good when he doesn't phone his music in (which is unfortunately what he has been doing for almost a decade at this point). His beefs were pretty much the only exception to that, but with heart part 6 it seems like he reached his limit there.

Not a fan of this TMZ style dissing where entire disses are centred around things that can't be proven. Diss tracks have always had some elements of unproven stories but they were never the central themes to the tracks. It only works if you can bring receipts like Pusha did in SOA.

Drake has countered with "we fed you bullshit and you fell for it"

Bold strat.
I thought this might have been the case tbh. It lined up almost too perfectly. Drake got beaten by Pusha T for a child being exposed and the same thing happens in his next beef? Drake takes shots at Ross for taking ozempic and a receipt of Drakes ozempic medication gets leaked alongside a Maybach glove?

On Family Matters he also alluded to it -
you diggin' for dirt, should be diggin' for proof

Who do you like? Start there

Otherwise, Kendrick objectively (but it's more Nas v Jay than Jadakiss v 50 cent)
I'm not really an expert on hip hop, but I guess I prefer Kendrick over Drake, so I'll be rooting for him. I also hear that he's the one not diddling kids, so that's a plus.

He would have reacted completely differently after the release of meet the grahams if this was ever the case. Also, no way that he would want to manufacture this type of rumours when he has a ton of documented creepy behaviors towards much younger women. Even if this was completely fabricated by him, it still leads to more people to find out about those.

Is this really 2 allegedly two grown adults publicly defaming each in rap that Plechazunga would embarrassed to produce?

And what is non-commercial hip-hop?

If Drake fabricated it, why not release the proof the moment Grahams dropped?

Either he's lying or he likes the attention whether it's positive or negative.

Defer on the first question

non-commercial hip-hop is that real hip-hop yo, where money isn't cared about, and shows are done for free, and proceeds are donated to charity instead of buying chains and champagne and serenading bitches* in the process

*non disrespectful, non gendered use of the term

Potter Payper already called Drake out for his messaging of younger girls while in England, I think there is something in it.

My favorite insult ever of Drake is when Wiley (also a UK artist) called him a pagan.

Pagan: an opp, or proper waste man, according to Urban Dictionary

Drake is the biggest vulture in the whole industry, Wiley always with the hard truths on a lot of subjects, and that is why he got blackballed.

Not sure if it has been mentioned also, but Metro confirmed Aubrey did cease and desist on Like that.

Drake has definitely perfected the vulture move (hopped on Afrobeats, UK scene, Atlanta, Houston) and he does it better than most. Sad to say, gone are the days when it was a cardinal sin to jack someone else's style. And it started long before Drake.

Ed Sheeran is another vulture whom Wiley called out but nobody wanted to hear it because it was Wiley.

And not just in rap.

I remember SisQo constantly being called a K-Ci ripoff. I was a fan of both and miss that era of music so much :(

It’s also quite funny that Drake doesn’t have much to use against Kendrick since he basically 8-Miled himself on Mr Morale.

He insulted himself when he tried singing a Spanish song. Pop star trying to act rough. They need to let him loose in South Jamaica for a few minutes so we can see how tough he really is.

I like Wiley but I think the rampant antisemitism is why he got blackballed

He's also someone who's had allegations of being a paedophile for a while, started by Dizzee

Mos def pretty much had the same outcome after a certain track (which in my opinion is one of the best diss tracks to the whole industry ever) Cube also dropped a few lines in regards to certain heads of the music business.

I get what you mean but imo likening jews to the KKK is a lot worse than what Mos Def said (assuming you're talking about The Rapeover?) which was solely limited to the Music industry. Even Wileys own manager dropped him and he was stripped of his MBE for it (among other anti Jewish stuff mostly limited to the industry).

Ditto for Action Bronson being called a Ghostface clone (which first of all, they didn't even sound the same, and their rap subjects were completely difference). Then Ghostface called Action Bronson out over a Teddy Pendergrass sample and that was that for AB :(

That's a bit harsh, let's start with Flatbush. He may not survive South Jamaica with no acclimatization:D

No, I totally agree, Wiley like Kanye just went too far and over the top in comparison to Mos def who used his music to go after the industry rather than one group.

Mos def also hates Drake funnily enough.

Joe Budden already had Drake running scared like 5 years ago. The double drop of Making A Murderer & Wake polished the poor lad off. Afraid a year or so later reminded him he was still on notice.

Budden remains the best battle MC of the modern era. Mainly because he’s paranoid as feck and read every subliminal jab as some assault he must respond to. I think he respectfully clapped back at Kendrick at one point over the Control beat.

Joe would pick up a pen and a mic and go after anyone. Absolute waste of a rap career though. Loved by heads but ‘not famous enough’ to garner this level of investment from Twitter when his Drake beef popped off back then. Had Kendrick just re-recorded them this past week, the internet would have melted.

Would love him to chime in again right now.

Read that as Joe Biden in the first sentence.

I think some of them were genuinely fearful in one way or another back then also, like when 50 poked Nas and Nas responded with a warning shot you know fine well Eminem and Dre told 50, we don't want that smoke.

I think Nas gave 50 his start and took him on tour with him before he was signed so they go back a long way.

I believe what happened with them was just a misunderstanding when 50 was at his peak and going after everyone.

I haven't really followed this. Who's winning?

I think it's just about over going by that poor effort by Drake. He clearly wants a way out now. Kendrick might have one last shot at him but i don't think he even needs to

I don't think he had Drake running scared. To the contrary, Drake gave him a few throw-away bars and took pictures with one of his exes, and made dismissive posts of him on IG.

If anyone had Drake running scared, it was Pusha T.

Joe Budden is an interesting MC... He has the energy and creativity to sustain a battle for many songs (Saigon, Ransom, etc) and yet still get defeated by, wait for it... Lil B on T-Shirts and Buddens

But yes, his diss tracks against Drake were top tier quality, based on no lies, and rarely below the belt. Better than what we've heard from both Kendrick and Pusha T, but no one cares, which shows how unfair beef results can be

I have no idea if anything these two are saying are facts, if they are just random lies then it really devalues the disses.

I must say though Kendrick content is great but he doesn't have the voice for battle rap.

He does, around 12 hours a week, only in podcastform.
