First impressions as expected should be easy if he can act the part with the wig and the costume.

Obviously a different face but who cares? I think Cavill will always regret this career decision.

Weird take he's a much bigger star than Hemsworth will ever be and has some very interesting roles coming up. The Witcher will likely die a death either this season or next without him

Does he? Not arguing he's the bigger star but have heard nothing about him doing anything more popular than Witcher?

Well for one and it's not one of the films he has coming up that I'm really interested in he's staring in the Highlander reboot which should be huge.

I know he was attached to Warhammer but as you say not heard anything to suggest that's actually happening anytime soon.

He is attached to several films though

Fair play I do like him but I wish he'd carried on with the Witcher. Hopefully the writing will improve and the new actor will carry it well - he's supposed to be excellent using weapons and doing fight scenes etc so I will definitely give him a chance.

I also wish through no fault of his own Cavill could have done Justice League 2 where he goes evil - the taster of that looked superb to me.

I enjoyed Cavill dedication to the Witcher. That being said, I can enjoy someone else doing the role, as long as it is entertaining. Perhaps it was not the case, but Cavill looked effortless in the Witcher role and his character was always the same, incredible consistency.

I am such a fan boy of the original Highlander that I hope he does it well. I think there are several aspects of Highlander that could be done better. Some of the supporting actors in the movie were not exactly very believable in their roles. The main actors killed it though and really made a great movie.

It was a passion project for him, never got the vibe popularity is his main goal. From day one he's talking about how much he loves the story and world of the Witcher, wants to keep faithful to the source material etc. The show runners went and took a giant dump on it unfortunately. I think pretty much all his fans and fans of the Witcher (books) support his decision.

This story is mostly about Ciri and from where the last few episodes left off, its entering a big part of her arc, so at least Hemsworth can take a back seat... Should do at least, they'll probably feck it up again though and do something different.

I watched that Guy Ritchie movie - great cast as well - Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare. I thought it was a decent enough watch & very entertaining. Argylle was a bunch of piss though. Then as others have mentioned, there's Highlander and another Guy Ritchie movie he's signed on to. But yeah, the popularity of the Witcher will be difficult to beat due to its popularity as a video game and how effortlessly Cavill executed the role.
