There was an 'Oldies' music thread in the newbies which generated some buzz a while ago. I thought the mains forum could also use a thread like that. So please post any song from whatever genre you prefer that was initially released prior to 1980 (i.e. 70’s music is fine). I’ll get the ball rolling:

If any of you have an hour and a half to spare I suggest you watch this. It really makes you sad at how much of a fall modern music has taken compared to this. The sheer quality of these guys is amazing in every aspect.

What a wonderful video; Johnny Carson was very entertaining as always and the fabulous trio (Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin and Sammy Davis, Jr.) demonstrated how high-quality music was a regular feature of that period.

How have The Beach Boys not been mentioned yet?
