For the sake of argument, let's say teachers get armed. What would conservatives say when a teacher guns down his classroom?
If you just give them a pistol it's worse than current state. So you need to 1) give them rifles 2) train them in using these properly together with some tactics. Most teachers would rather quit at this point since they didn't sign up for SWAT

And all you need is a good guy with a gun to stop a bad guy with a gun. Apparently!

I mean surely they would of heard gunfire and screams from outside the building, from children and they did nothing.
It turns out cops aren't good guys.

the police were absolute pussies. It is your job to go in not "secure the scene."

I can't understand the calls for gun laws considering there was just as proliferate a ratio of guns pre 1990 but absolutely nowhere near the rate of mass shooting incidences as before. The USA and its outposts are uniquely mentally ill societies. This is the consequence post 2000

That red line shows, roughly, when the ban on sales of assault weapons expired in 2004.

The guns people were buying in Walmart pre 1990 were not in the same ballpark in terms of technology and firepower as these weapons.

Wouldn't it be Congress that would call for an investigation in something like this?
Sure. But because the DOJ is currently lead by that weakling (Merrick Garland), there is a reason to believe that the DOJ needs a shove from a higher force in order to get things done.

Because of the overblown media proportion these events get. If Lisa dies from flu, it is not sexy to talk about that on TV. Just something of nature, probably preventable, but something you get used to it. If Lisa dies in a mass shooting, then she has a name and a face, and it is tragic. It is also completely preventable by applying gun measures, which the US for pretty much no rational reasons has decided to not apply.

But in the grand scheme of things, there are very few kids who die from mass shootings (and very few people in general). There were around 1300 people who dies in mass shootings from 2009 to 2021. That is less than how many died from covid in 8 hours during the peak of the pandemic. Yesterday there were more deaths by covid in the US, then the combined number of deaths from mass shootings during the last year.

It is tragic for people (and their families/friends) who die in mass shootings, and obviously, it should be prevented. But statistically, it is also completely insignificant.
I think the failing of this post is partly explained within your post. The Lisa who dies of Flu or Covid is largely none preventable probably due to a weak immunity. The Lisa who dies by gun crime is preventable, which you point. A quick google shows homocides by gun per year is nearly 20,000 people in the US, and gun homocide is around 78% of all homocides compared to only 4% in the UK for example. Simply put America has more murders because it has a corrupt government that favours corporations over citizens at every turn

Even your argument about the US 'helping' Ukraine more than Europe. You realise this isn't because they're kind people surely? They're doing that because Ukraine is going into massive debt and their arms manufacturers are making billions selling them weapons.

And even from a statistical pov this is complete and utter bs. School schooling’s are among the most common causes of death for children in the US. I think some stats even show them as the number one cause.
School schooling's are indeed very bad

What the hell are you thinking, Joe?

@Raoul @Carolina Red Can you tell me what is he doing? People are asking for investigations not because of political gains but because it is the right thing to do in front of cowardice.
There are investigations ongoing, as stated in the article, and he didn't say that bout the law enforcement thing, its a spokesperson. But yeh, bad optics, Psaki was a big loss.

Obviously it needs more funding. It’s the only way forward.
More like spending more money from the budget and time into training. This below is an article that was published in the wake of George Floyd's death about how many hours of training American LEOs get compared to other countries. It's abysmal and I'm not particularly proud of the state of affairs in Canada at all according to those stats. Mind you, those other countries don't have the same budget for police as the United States do.

Yep. You don’t hear songs like ‘feck the firefighters.’

Don't worry, Biden's got their back.
This is a Republican newspaper that is completely anti-Biden. If Biden said that "there will be an investigation" then their title would be "Biden blames police".

If you actually open their web site, you will also find another article "China's lap dogs in the NBA shouldn't be lecturing anyone about gun control", I guess they refer to Steve Kerr, I have not read the article.

It is sad to repeat Republican lies here. Here is the actual dialog. Also, Ms Jean Pierre is new to this, might make other mistakes in the future.

Much ado about nothing.

Q Thanks, Karine. Does the President believe that there should be an investigation into the police response to this school shooting?

MS. JEAN-PIERRE: So we’ve heard of — (member of the press coughs) — we’ve — need some water? You okay? (Laughs.) Just let us know.

The President — we’ve — we’ve been watching the reporting on this. The President has the utmost respect, as you all know, for the men and women of law enforcement. Just days ago, he honored the memory of the former police officer, Aaron Salter, in Buffalo who was killed bravely while trying to stop the shooter at the supermarket.

I know that right now authorities are working to piece together more details of what happened in Uvalde, so we won’t prejudge the results from here at this time.

It is al- — it is always a good idea to look back and try to find any lessons we can learn, especially from trag- — tragedies like this, so that we can prevent them from moving forward, including law enforcement response.

The police officers responsible for the non response should be executed for cowardice.

Parents like her are part of the problem too, she needs locking up!

Yes she created her son's Narcissistic Personality Dissorder/Psychopathy and other mental illnesses with her selfish parenting which triggered all of this. And as a Narc she pities herself and her son as an extension of herself over the victims. Note how she is talking about defending her son and feeling sorry for herself over having a shed of empathy for the victims or their family. The perpetator probably had an unstable upgrading where either he experienced an abusive childhood or one where he was the golden child of someone who was clearly lacking in human empathy.

That's fine. But as long as one of the parents of the dead kids is allowed to walk up to her and shoot her dead point blank. At no point must she flinch or judge the parent, because the parent now has their very obvious reasons.

Weird how cops can just, "nope, don't fancy it" when push comes to shove.

And they have the temerity to call the French cowards.
