It's not first pick, its 'types' of games that are in certain 'bands'. Bt sport always used to have utd v spurs which i think is one of the 'c' games which they would play sat evening. Last season i think bt got the 'b' games (sat morning) which is why we were on Sky last year v spurs, so we probably will be on Sunday.

Am sure there's a better technical explanation out there
How on earth is United v Spurs ever a C game?
Unless the bands run down to Z which would be something like Burnley v Stoke

In an apple vacuum...
So how many points would be acceptable after 10 games this year after only getting 13 last year? Around the 20 mark?
The first ten fixtures are quite a bit harder than the next eight before the turn of the year to be honest. The more competitive fixtures in that first ten games include Spurs, Liverpool and City at home and Swansea, Southampton, Arsenal and Everton away so even 17/18 points wouldn't be a complete disaster as crazy as it sounds. The next eight fixtures however should nearly all be three points as they're all pretty easy apart from Chelsea. Even Stoke and Palace away shouldn't hopefully be too much of a problem, so I'd say anything less than 20 points from those would be a poor showing. The high 30's is really the minimum return I'd expect given that we got 36 at the same point in the season just passed after the bad start and van Gaal is in his second season- plus Moyes managed 34 after 19 games in his season. I think the low 40's is the normal mark needed for a title challenge.

I've read it on Twitter by quite a few people mate. Its probably their plan to announce today but wouldnt be surprised if it was delayed.

didn't think they were out until at least the second week of July last year, so would be delighted if it's this week

Sky have announced their games now. Villa on a Friday night and Liverpool at half 5 on a Saturday, which is a surprise.

I quite like the idea of Friday night football, end of the working week. Unwind, feet up and watch some footy!

What's not to like? :)

Pretty sure there's a lad on here that is getting married on that day, remember him saying when the fixtures were announced at least it will be early on Sat or on Sunday... Ouch!

When's the last time we played Liverpool and it wasn't an early kick off? Any reason for the change?

I anticipated us being on BT a lot this year and cancelled Sky Sports and Moved up to the XL Virgin Media package, which means I get ESPN, BTS1, BTS2 included for no extra cost!

I must have beaten you to that post by a matter of seconds, spooky.

Congrats btw but I'd make sure there is a screen at the dinner/reception!
There isn't. I've already checked

Will just mean a lot of checking my phone during dinner!

Your own fault for getting married during the season. Just saying.
You're absolutely right. I definitely won't do it again

We play on Friday the week before our CL playoff game. Finally, the TV companies and the PL do right by their teams representing them in Europe.

Edit: never mind. Apparently, Sky Sports say that the Friday game is just one-off, moved due to a EDL march.

hate those lunchtime kick offs and our first 2 homes are that slot

if you read the article someone posted above then it explains that basically Sky save their top picks for the end of the season and let BT choose what they want at the start

No different really to the Monday night games. And they have been around since the PL started in 92'.

Would actually prefer if they moved the Monday night games to Fridays. Watching football on a Monday is shit.

That's a pain, work up time in lieu? Annual leave?

The match going fans do tend to get screwed over sometimes though, its all about TV Revenue now though and money is king.
