Brendon Bolton officially unveiled as Carlton's new coach. He'll leave the Hawks before their match against Brisbane in Tasmania this weekend.

Toughest game is North v the Doggies for mine, flip of the coin. Though I'm tipping North because of Goldy and the fact that the Doggies aren't playing a ruckman.

I have seven less in this competition than I do in the other one I am in . Don't know how that happened. Think the fact the Dogs travel back from Perth on a 6 day break will hurt them against North too.

Lance Franklind ruled out of Sydney's match against Fremantle on Saturday. Freo even bigger favourites now than they probably were when it was confirmed Fremantle and Sydney would play each other this weekend.

Fyfe didn't train today. Would still have Freo as favourites though.

So glad Ross Lyon will have to wait another 12 months at least in order to win his first flag.

It does raise the question Lions or the Hawks for the best team in the modern era
Hard to tell. Both had advantages in their favour. Hawks may just shade it as they won a minor premiership as part of a three peat something the Lions didn't do.

Resident aussie gooners/hawks how do you feel :D
Haha can't hate Mitchell for that despite his poor choice. He's the best Hawthorn player I've ever seen alongside Dunstall (born in 86 so wasn't able to watch Matthews, Knights and Hudson).

Rioli is a magician. That steal in mid-air and then handball off to Breust happened so quick it was unbelievable.

I thought Mitchell, Smith, Rioli and Hodge were our best. Really glad for Schoenhangers, I mean Schoenmakers to have such a great games too).

Quality across the board. Frawley keeping Kennedy goalless is pretty massive although we also cut off most of his delivery. Lake's goalkeeper save was my favourite moment of the match along with Hodge's checkside from the pocket.

Hodge kicking that goal out of his arse from the carpark like an absolute boss.

Rioli's chase-down on the wing and his steal/quick give-off at full pace was something else.

Smith's long running goal from 55m out on the boundary.

Lake just trolling Josh Hill in the goal square.

So many great moments for us. We played like Barcelona during their peak, we were just so calm and in control when we had the ball.
