mail in votes have always been a thing. The problem for an authoritarian like trump is once you're told you are going to lose "bigly" and more people than ever will vote by mail, he does not care about free and fair elections, he will just call it fraudulent and seek lawsuits in each battleground state. Doesn't mean he'll win those suits but the whole goal of the Trump campaign is to get ballots thrown out.
Remember, trump has already said......multiple times, any vote that does not reelect him is fraudulent on the basis of him not winning. This shit is about to get ugly.

He ranted in 2016 with conspiracy theories about in person voting too. He's just not all there, and trying to lever public opinion in his base to preface any conservative court value as legitimate. With regard to Facebook & Twitter, it is a lost battle. Internet companies like Google have also showed that they are happy to aid totalitarian regimes like China if it means they can make billions. No surprise, these companies are leaning left right now given the public mood in States. I think you are giving him waaaaaaaaay to much credit. It comes down to the same 3 step process that governs everything he does:
1. Become indignant to some perceived slight (in this case blame for COVID) that is based on his actual actions.
2. Lash out at the consequences of said action (in this case people wanting to vote by mail to protect themselves from the pandemic Trump has downplayed).
3. Refuse under every circumstance to ever go back on his initial, impulsive, actions/words.
