2nd string against Chelsea? Or do we risk more tiredness

A stupid decision for Ole. What does a FA cup do for the club anyway ? LVG got sacked with both hands on the trophy. It's almost comical and a lack of common sense from Solskjaer, I wasn't overly critical for Southampton draw that was a tactical blunder and useless defending. But who can defend the stupidity of his decision to go with a strong line-up, which is bad enough even if we won, but even worse is the scenario we get tonked.

It does now look a bad decision. Ole is under severe pressure to get results so I understand the temptation however he has already shown weakness when it comes to load management. He should have picked some 2nd stringers and trusted in his tactical ability to get a result. He didn't and we lost and now our first team look jaded.

In hindsight the FA Cup semi final was a game for Andreas and Dalot. We gained nothing by putting more miles on our best players' clocks.

People are forgetting the Norwich City FA Cup game. Bruno played 120 minutes. By the 60th/70th minute the majority of the first team was on. We looked fine the following game against Brighton, but Bournemouth was where we started to look really lethargic in the early stages of games.

This. Egregious decision to play Bruno for 120 minutes in that stupid game.

yep, he is too innocent and naive. As if anyone would care if we won the FA cup while not getting top 4.
The decision to play our first choice players vs Norwich and Chelsea was beyond moronic especially in this compressed schedule. The players, Bruno in particular, now look too tired to put another huge shift in. We basically sabotaged ourselves.

We should have rested everyone against Chelsea.

Very very good chance we throw this away in the last game, the players are physically shot.
If he does that, the whole world will criticise him for not even trying to go for it. Pundits & other people actually criticised Ole & called him naive for not going his strong XI against Chelsea. End of the day, we are in disadvantage due to schedule compared to Chelsea & his aim was to go both trying to win trophy & top 4.

I have sympathy with him because he was in a no win situation, but a United manager needs some bottle about them and needs to be able to make a tough decision and risk criticism.

We still had the europa league to play for to redeem himself on the trophy front, but getting top 4 first should have been the priority.

No hindsight needed. Plenty, including myself, were urging him to play a full-on 2nd string.

How can someone have this job and have such poor decision-making? He literally tired our players and we still lost. Absolutely atrocious and if he fails with top 4, he needs sacking.

But just like De Gea, he knows his job is safe and has no pressure to actually make the hard calls and fecking deliver when it counts the most.
