Great selection at the end of Page 1 Summit.

Enjoy The Silence by Depeche Mode being the standout choice. Cracking tune.
Yeah, it's a fantastic song, so good in fact that a dance version was made. Have you heard it?

Not a 'power ballad' or 'love song' but a quality 80s tune nonetheless:

also this one is a blast from the past:

as the comments say below the youtube clip, the timings and musical structure are pretty damn good

Not even And That's No Lie?
You're a harsh and brutal man, Wibble.
No. I'm afraid not. They went to 80's pop for me. I didn't mind a few tracks off the Luxury Gap but Penthouse and Pavement is where it is at for me.

Some of those I love and some I like mainly just because they remind me of the 80's. And others like Safety Dance are shit but still really remind me of the times.

I'm thinking that the songs on that soundtrack weren't the very best that the 80's had to offer.

I loved that, still play it now
Yes, it's magnificent.

Listening to old tunes and reading the 'Good political books' thread in the General brought this to mind

On a happier note! :D

ETA: Had a look at the comments; bad idea! :nervous:
so was heinrich himmler, anyway he ripped a lot of chords off 60's groups like the small faces the who and the kinks. I agree he has some talent more than me say but i dont get on with lefty's
Humanity, ffs!

R.E.M. - Wendell Gee

I always, always cry when they come to

He had a dream one night
That the tree had lost its middle
So he built a trunk of chicken wire
To try to hold it up

Every single time.
