Half of my family are Wimbledon fans. After the initial devastating events, they've loved the past 10 years. Can tell he's a Liverpool fan by his math skills,
Fair play to Wimbledon players and fans can't have been easy to go through all of that
Same here. Do you live in Wimbledon as well?I'm chuffed - AFC wimbledon are my local team.
Hear, Hear!Actually it is the first time Wimbledon have been above them for 12 years, as there was no such team as franchise before Wimbledon folded. Sorry I mean taken over in one of the most disgraceful acts in FA history. Hopefully, Wimbledon will move forward & upward & the imposters will disappear into oblivion.
Nope, Sutton. Wimbledon itself is a great area, too expensive for me though!Same here. Do you live in Wimbledon as well?
Same. Well, they're my adopted local team. It's got a great atmosphere and a real community feel. Lots of crap football, if we're being honest, but they played some lovely stuff today.I'm chuffed - AFC wimbledon are my local team.
I know Sutton well; used to work there. I live in Wimbledon, about a 10 minute walk to Plough Lane. I'm really hoping they get the green light to move back there! I see a couple of AFC games a month but I would get a season ticket if they move.Nope, Sutton. Wimbledon itself is a great area, too expensive for me though!
Got a draw away at Wigan the other week too. I'm keen to see them do well. Lovely club IMV.AFC confirmed safe and MK Dons confirmed relegated.
They'll be one division above them now.
My second team and I’m absolutely delighted. It would have been pretty terrible for Wimbledon to get relegated with the new stadium in the works. The fact they’re safe AND Milton Keynes have gone down is incredibly satisfying.AFC confirmed safe and MK Dons confirmed relegated.
They'll be one division above them now.
Of course not!Surely there aren’t any original Wimbledon fans supporting MK Dons?
Mk Dons are the old Wimbledon, disgraceful and unfair that they are but AFC Wimbledon are a new club, MK Dons are the old but founded in 04. Technically nobody has it.I’m a bit confused. Who adopts Wimbledon’s history? So which of the two teams have the past trophies in their trophy room? Are the likes of Vinnie Jones Wimbledon legends or MK Dons legends?
If United were moved to Milton Keynes and the old fanbase started a new club, that fanbase would of course claim their own history. Which is the same with AFC fans.I’m a bit confused. Who adopts Wimbledon’s history? So which of the two teams have the past trophies in their trophy room? Are the likes of Vinnie Jones Wimbledon legends or MK Dons legends?
Half of my family are life long Wimbledon fans. They are no doubt whatsoever that they won the FA Cup in 1988.I’m a bit confused. Who adopts Wimbledon’s history? So which of the two teams have the past trophies in their trophy room? Are the likes of Vinnie Jones Wimbledon legends or MK Dons legends?
AFC Wimbledon.Which ones are the good guys?
Good to know. Thanks!Half of my family are life long Wimbledon fans. They are no doubt whatsoever that they won the FA Cup in 1988.
They are delighted that MK Dons (or the "Franchise" as they call them) are getting relegated.
I'm not sure if any MK Dons fans claim the 1988 FA cup, most want to look forwards and ignore the way their club was formed.
They're building a new ground at the Plough lane site which will be about right for their fanbase size, think it will be 12k capacity.I wonder if they would sell out Selhurt Park now...
I’m a bit confused. Who adopts Wimbledon’s history? So which of the two teams have the past trophies in their trophy room? Are the likes of Vinnie Jones Wimbledon legends or MK Dons legends?
https://www.afcwimbledon.co.uk/club/honours/The supporters of AFC Wimbledon believe that our club is a continuation of the spirit which formed Wimbledon Old Centrals in 1889 and kept Wimbledon Football Club alive until May 2002.
We consider that a football club is not simply the legal entity which controls it, but that it is the community formed by the fans and players working towards a common goal. We therefore reproduce the honours won by what we believe was, and will always be, 'our' club, in our community.
