I'm sure the ref blew 15 seconds early there

Well done Burkina Faso (despite them losing their heads a bit at 80 mins). That seals at least a 4th place finish for them in this tournament, which goes along with a silver and bronze medal from the last 10 years

And I'm sure they have personal reasons for not wanting to go home early :nervous:

Cameroon are through to the Semi-finals, they've definitely exceeded expectations so far. Aboubakar and Ekambi their only scorers with 10 goals between them.

Burkina Faso and Tunisia kicking off now...
Trust you to keep this thread updated.
A top 8 team playing on home turf, the people have high expectations. Somehow they got to the semis without playing anyone of note. The other big teams have thinned out the field but there is nowhere to hide now in the semis. Burkina Faso is the big surprise in the SF though.

They may have had an easy route to the semis but they handled their business in the group stage (against a strong Burkinabe side as well). Ghana would have been their competition instead of Comoros if they did what they had to do.

Burkina Faso has had a strong history of making the SF of this tournament in the past 10 years...they are definitely doing a lot right.

Our GK was just saying " I won't come out". He's playing injured now!

Another one bites the dust, 5th player from the backline to be injured this tournament.

The absolute state of Morocco, deserve to go out.

Egypt not managing to score into an open goal is also hilarious.

This tournament has well and truly restored our pride as one of the biggest African teams in history.

We're back. We're fecking back.

With all these amount of injuries and our shit draw, this has been a fantastic tournament for us.

Egypt started the tournament very slowly but they have slowly built some momentum on their way to the semis. Very solid performance from them today. Quieroz is doing something out of that squad. Cameroon would have it tough in the semis.

Salah's real class appears in such games. Both this one and in Ivory Coast game, he literally carried the attack on his own.

Fetouh also had Hakemi in his own pockets.

Hakimi is a smug cnut, glad to see him neutered in this game.

How is the reaction in Egypt? Any additional joy over taking down Morocco?

Of course, there's nothing more entertaining than beating a North African team.

This is the type of shit and siege mentality Queiroz likes to build. Reason why I think for him is easier to work well with Iran or Egypt where he doesn't have to deal with prima donnas, while at Portugal or Colombia you cannot expect those players to just sit and listen and do as I want. On a side note for you, since you're also a Al Ahly fan, he and Manuel Jose hate each other. Next game against Cameroon playing at home is bloody hard, and definitely having to face Senegal to reach Qatar is terrible because beside the quality players they are solid as a rock in Africa when it's related to suffer goals.
