Nick Viergever(Defender) will be missing for them.
Not sure how important he is for them ?
He is their main LB. Was doing a pretty good job this season. They will probaly put Veltman or Riedewald there who aint LBs and Riedewald barely played this season (Out of form for sure) Overall a massive loss for them.

Tbf I think I'd prefer 4 in 10 than a game 10 days away. Southampton game could be good prep for the final first team.
I was thinking exactly this. 10 days is a long time with no competitive football.
Not sure about that. Southampton had a couple of weeks off before the final and they looked fresher and much better.

Our squad is more streched and tired now. There is no way we can handle 4 games in that period. A lot of fringe/reserve players in the league.

We did play our first ever European final in blue, as I recall. And that one went well! :)

I know it won't happen but I'd like us to request to play in next season's black kit for the final
Why do we have to request? Chelsea I'm sure played in their home shirt for the following season against us in 08, surely we as the club determine what kit we wear?

We still had to field our first teams in all the games leading up to it though. We can rest our team in these games, give important starts to some squad players too so they're sharp of the bench if needed in the final.

With Bailly gone, we also need to find the CB partnership for the final too.

The only question is, Jones or Smalling?
Mike would probably get the nod. I don't think Jones has played much with Blind? Anyway, at least one of them will probably get injured by then, so it's a pointless discussion.

People praising Ajax, they got beat well by Lyon.

They are clearly beatable, it's a final and they have a chance. Clearly, we have the stronger players, I'm not that worried.

They have kids on their side, we have experience. Learn from Juve vs monaco and Let their inexperience show. We need to bully them physically and force mistakes.

Never seen a single Ajax game this season. How have they played so far? I know they aren't afraid of scoring goals. Are they better than us?
We are total oposites imo

Ajax loves to football and plays attacking all the time
United loves to sit back and defend

Ajax scores goals for fun
United can't score a goal if their life would depend on it

Ajax is a bit shit at defending and concedes alot of goals
United concededs very few goals

Will be an interesting match-up

One thing is for sure, if we play as bad as we did today, we will lose, simple as that. We play like we did versus for example Chelsea and will win.

I really don't know how it works. I thought there would be a rule which prevented it

Romero
Valencia - Blind - Jones - Darmian
Herrera
Fellaini - Pogba
Mikhi - Rashford - Lingard

These 11 players should be rested for the rest of the season.

The remaining 3 games will be good in giving Jones as well as Mata sharpness as Mata will be very valuable in the final, can even start above Lingard if he picks form due to his critical finishing.

Quick read up on kit rules in UEFA competitions and it would seem that the two clubs have the final say in which kits they wear.. doesn't mention anything about a new or old kit etc.

Saw a bit of Ajax inbetween our game, they really are a defensive mess.
We'll need to be prime chance bottlers to lose this. They only perform when they're playing in Holland.

Personally I think of it as a Champions leage qualifier with a trophy given to the one who qualifies.

Don't worry Lingard is starting the finals.

Ah feck sake. We're in a European final. Okay not the one we wanted to be in but it's a European final. Let's enjoy it.
What other one did we want to be in since we started the season playing europa league football?

And qualification via this route would be direct - no CL qualifying round in August as with a 4th place PL finish.

How's it a loss considering we'll have Lingard on the wing. They could play their backup keeper there and be fine.

I will never get used to us being the non-attacking option when these complete opposite match-ups take place.

God have mercy on us and please don't allow any injuries to Valencia, Smalling, Jones, Herrera, Pogba, Mkhitarayan or Rashford We keep those players fit and I think we've got the final.

I think we should play Tuanzebe, Williams, Gribbin, McTominay, O'Connor, Warren and Gomes in a lot of the remaining games as there's no pressure on them seeing as we're guaranteed a Europa spot at worst from the EFL cup and not only does it protect a lot of our first team players from injury before the Europa final but also bloods the youngsters which may see another Rashford style breakthrough for someone.

I don't necessarily agree with how Mourinho has approached some of our games this season but in a final, a one-off game, there really isn't any better manager that him. He handles these occasions brilliantly.

There is something in his preparation that sees him get it right, time after time. You can bet your bottom dollar he's already turned his attention on how to sink this youthful Ajax side.
