Why are Roma so obsessed with helping Liverpool lately?

Gave them Salah for chips, opened the door to the Champions League final for them, and now this.

What's Italian for "Southampton"?

I’ll unfollow him if this doesn’t go through now after what happened with Fékir. Don’t like “official” releases from the usual sources before the club announces it anymore.

No he isnt. He is probably looking at something else
He is looking at the right section. Click on career statistics link in wiki, not just league numbers below his pic.

It'll be interesting to see whether Klopp remains the media darling after throwing so much dough around in the last 12 months. That's an incredible amount of money for a goalkeeper.

Roma's owner is actually a partner in FSG who own us lol. But they've done us no favours, we're overpaying for Allison and initially John Henry was complaining to their owner that we'd overpaid for Salah!

Given they had to wait for real madrid to drop their interest before moving for him, i wonder how confident they could have been...
Very confident - they felt it was pretty much done before they played them in the Champions League.

Am stoked for once. I don't rate him as good as de Gea, but that's because he is the best in the world.
But at least now we will have a goalie who rates in the top 4 in the PL, and Chelsea are losing theirs by the looks of it.

Overpaying or not, Klopp being a hypocritical cnut or not, all true, but the main problem here is that they are reinforcing their biggest weakness, make it be over Minge or the concussed-even-in-trainings-by-the-looks-of-it-Karius. They are doing fine business at the moment imo, hoping here that Keita/Fabinho fail to settle and Salah doesn't have as good season as the previous one.

It was very questionable when he became Brazil #1 because he wasn’t a top 5 keeper in Brazil but he was a favorite of Taffarel. He has improved a lot since then, he went from disaster to solid with room to improve. Excellent ball playing keeper not Ederson level though, his reflex save are good but he is still prone to lapses and can do a better job of commanding the area.

"for chips" .... in hindsight. Not many laughed then.

And due to that hindsight, are robbing with a goalie. £70m is obscene, even in this market.

Why did Tite chose to play him over Ederson as well? Genuine question, because I agree with your assessment, that's kind of how I think of him as well from what I've seen from him at the WC and a few games at Roma.

That's RAWK, not LFC
I've never been on RAWK in my life. That's what LFC believed, Real Madrids interest has never been of any concern to them - it's Chelsea that they are worried about.

Good goalkeeper but he's getting ridiculously overrated this summer. £68M is insane. Liverpool are going to out spend the rest of the top six and I wonder if the media/pundits are going to hold them to a high standard now instead of painting them out to be some plucky underdogs going up against the evil forces in football. They've just broken the world record for a defender and now for a goalkeeper. Title or bust time for Jurgen 'I do things differently' Klopp.

I rate Ederson over this guy any day. Maybe I've not watched him enough times but is he £66m good? Would be better than lfc current crop of keepers though.

They literally had to wait for real madrid to pull out before making an offer because Alisson wasn't considering other destinations. How were they not worried? Even the liverpool itk journos were saying the club felt alisson was unlikely to happen a month ago...

If De Gea would have gone to Madrid and we had to replace him for that sort of fee with Oblak or Alisson, I'd be happy to see us pay that.
Oblak, yes. Allison, no way. Only three GK's worth that much are DDG, Oblak, Courtois imo. Allison is in a tier below alongside the likes of Ederson, Areola.

Only one season at Roma as first choice and going for that kind of money. He must be crazy good or Liverpool are crazy desperate

On paper Alisson is a huge improvement on Karius. With him, Keita and Fabinho Liverpool seem to have significantly improved their first XI. Can see them winning 85 pts next season.

When Tite took over for Dunga; he keep Taffarel as the the goalkeeping coach. Taffarel is a big believer in Alisson plus the Internacional connection. I think that one of the reasons Dunga gave Alisson the #1 when he had no business starting over Diego Alves at the time. My guess is Tite took Taffarel opinion into consideration as well when deciding the #1. At the time, Ederson was flying under the radar at Benfica. It wasn’t until he moved to City that he started making enough noise to get notice.

I'm not surprised, it's a great move for Liverpool.

Worrying for the rest of us - having a shite keeper/defence has been the chink in Liverpool armour for a number of years. Now Alisson and worlds greatest CB .

All Goalkeepers taken from Premier League, La Liga, Bundesliga, Ligue 1 and Serie A that played 1000+ minutes.
