Oops.
@Skizzo how dare you?!Whenever he actually played in the middle for us it wasn't a particular success and I think he was actually quite like Pat mustard in the way his poor control occasionally cost us.
https://www.redcafe.net/threads/next-draft-idea-discussion.403961/Could I ask for your thoughts draft-lovers on a draft idea that I have? I have no real intention to organise it as I've not done anything like that before but I'd love to see what people make of the idea. Could I perhaps quickly post it in here or shall I slip it in into another thread?
I don't want to build it up as being a great idea, I just don't think I've seen it before around here.
Ok, ok. Everone is entitled to a drunk (well, hangover) pick. Good we have 12. Don't have to be so douchy about it..I'm bored, so thought I'd double check on what I thought. He made 31 appearances in his first season. 9 in the second. So that's already not two good seasons. He also got injured in January of his first season, and missed a month. After the injury he didn't find the same form. So that's already not one good season. I assume you'll be playing him out left too? That's where he played quite often while there due to what they had available.
Don't dead. Open inside.
Spurs forum
Plus a bit more on his position...mostly used on the left of midfield...not centrally
And a few more on how he was doing...
Nothing douchy about it at all, was just double checking to see if I was off the mark I would have left it at "interesting pick" until you followed up with the "two good seasons" comment, followed by your reply of "I checked Spurs forums and majority thought he was good. Enough for me"Ok, ok. Everone is entitled to a drunk (well, hangover) pick. Good we have 12. Don't have to be so douchy about it..
Not necessery but you know full well i wouldn't play him on the left. Didn't do my research and get punished for it. It's alllllll goooooood.Nothing douchy about it at all, was just double checking to see if I was off the mark I would have left it at "interesting pick" until you followed up with the "two good seasons" comment, followed by your reply of "I checked Spurs forums and majority thought he was good. I can delete the post if you want
To be honest...we almost picked him ourselves a couple rounds agoNot necessery but you know full well i wouldn't play him on the left. Didn't do my research and get punished for it. It's alllllll goooooood.
I've played 3 draft; 1 in the newbs and 2 here. Davids has been in all three teams. He belongs in it, even if it is as mascotTo be honest...we almost picked him ourselves a couple rounds ago
Hey, everyone did say his experience and leadership helped turn that Spurs team around. Nothing wrong with having him snarling on the sidelineI've played 3 draft; 1 in the newbs and 2 here. Davids has been in all three teams. He belongs in it, even if it is as mascot
You pick Yorke and you put a Villa picture.
He has Ferdinand and Nani already so it will be barcode Cole and villan Yorke. You pick Yorke and you put a Villa picture.
Does this mean the fabled partnership is disregarded as neither are judged on what the did at United and consequently together? He has Ferdinand and Nani already so it will be barcode Cole and villan Yorke.
In yorke's case, it is without question his peak was 99 season. So you can't have a peak Yorke if u play his villa versionDoes this mean the fabled partnership is disregarded as neither are judged on what the did at United and consequently together?
I don't make the rules, but that would be my interpretation. That said, it would be difficult for anyone to argue those two couldn't work together when they clearly did eventually Scanvoters will certainyl not hold him to the rules either, they'll just read Yorke-Cole and see one of the most devastating strike partnerships in the EPL's history.Does this mean the fabled partnership is disregarded as neither are judged on what the did at United and consequently together?
Mmmmm... I don't think you can differentiate Villa Yorke in '98 to United Yorke in '99. It wasn't the player that changed but the setup, service and perfect strike partner. In yorke's case, it is without question his peak was 99 season. So you can't have a peak Yorke if u play his villa version
Quite a specific scenario again that if considered according to the rules reads quite differently to the scan voterI don't make the rules, but that would be my interpretation. Still a pretty classic pairing; all-around creative striker and a poacher. He has Ferdinand and Nani already so it will be barcode Cole and villan Yorke.
Of course. There's nothing wrong with it. Anyone not fussed with rules will see the peak pairing and those sticking to rules can hardly argue it's a bad pairing even if it hadn't been proven yet. Anyone trying to argue Yorke and Cole don't work well together has his work cut out reallyStill a pretty classic pairing; all-around creative striker and a poacher.
This for me too.Quite a specific scenario again that if considered according to the rules reads quite differently to the scan voter
For the purpose of this according to the rules they are simply two good strikers playing for Villa/Newcastle. The added advantage of them working well together has not yet been tested and therefore can't be considered in the voting in my opinion.
True enough. It was considered a big signing at the time - he wasn't a wild punt by any stretch: One of the very best strikers in the league - and had been so for several seasons, for a Villa team that were roughly around Spurs' current level, if not better.Mmmmm... I distinctly remember when we signed him (I actually remember the exact words they said on talkradio) and it was a big statement of intent. He wasn't just some PL guy who had been doing well, he looked every bit what United needed to kick on. It was as big/significant a signing as if we had signed Bale back when he went to Madrid.
Cheers. sent. @Gio tag bleezy@VivaJanuzaj, you can leave me your pick if you're off to bed. I'll be on for a while yet.
