He's been brilliant all pre-season IMO, has carried on his goal scoring form from last season as well. Expecting him to be one of the stand out players in the league this season...

He certainly seems to be enjoying his football. First choice midfielder for me at the moment.

And it worked a lot last season with Carrick.

Is he dynamic?

Huge difference imo. Granted Ando looks much sharper right now so its a bit of an unfair criticism. And this isnt meant as a bash to Carrick but I think our midfield works much better with two players who can go up and down rather than one sitting and the other "going" (especially in 442)

I had him down as our clear best player in the first half. 2nd half he lapsed back into his annoying trait of holding onto it too long, then hitting it slightly too far in front of him and losing the resulting 50/50 at times...He also seemed to willingly concede the anchorman/instigator role to Cleverly when he came on...But in general I thought he was excellent.

I don't know how often this gets across on TV but regular match goers will know how he's wanton to try and rouse the crowd with a windmilling "come on" gesture at times, and at 2-1 and 2-2, he was doing it to excellent effect whenever we got a free kick or corner...It's impossible not to love the little fecker.

Carrick, Anderson and Cleverley in a 4-5-1 could be pretty good. We should try it sometimes, at tricky away grounds like Goodison Park or the Reebok.

thankyou Mockney - I thought he was just as good in the 1st half too - barely put a foot wrong but just wish he'd cut out the Hollywood ball (when it comes off we won't be complaining) Against, let's face it, a pretty decent and physically imposing mf, intent on setting about us to unsettle our play, he was my MOM. If he can maintain focus, he has it all to make that spot his own.

I thought he was great, pretty much our best player after Nani

His runs through the middle were incredibly dynamic. He really didn't give it away that much. He was better than Cleverley, Tom was very good but I think some people are just surprised as they thought he was a Gibson sort of player.

Anderson completing a full 90 minutes without looking tired.

I like the look of things.

The only thing I would be mad at is that he had the chance to take a couple of shots today but for no reason tried a pass... Too predictable... If he can add some trickiness in his attacking play... Try to shoot a bit more... He'd be the player we're looking for.

I saw the game for a second time before I went to bed and your analyse is spot on. In the beginning of second half he had a few Hollywood passes and started to hold on to the ball a little to long but like you said in general he was excellent.

The difference I have noticed from last season is that he has learn to use his energy in a more effective way. Ando plays his best football when he do it simple and pass the ball near to the ground.

It's early day's but his partnership with Clev looks very promising.

I thought he displayed a bit more confidence to his allround game (but alas, still not for shooting). He did one orgasmic moment in the 2nd half where he flipped the ball over someones head and ran round and trapped it again.

There was also a couple of moments around the edge of the box where the buildup play was fantastic but he lacked the confidence to take the shot on himself

He has been playing very well and deserves to start. If he shows his best form away from home, we have a very good midfielder.

After Scholes, he seems to be the only midfielder wo plays these long passes. Yes, they are hit and miss, but I am sure he will get there

He was fantastic. Some of his passes down the left flank were lovely. The one to Welbeck who put in a great cross was excellent.

He'll be a decent squad player according to one genius in the pub.

Funniest thing I heard though, when Ando was outside the box with the ball one lad just turns and says, "Have a shot, you're fecking Brazilian"

i think that some times. Or "do some f-ing skills"

I think half the battle with Anderson is staying fit....if he gets a run of onsecutive games I think he can be a big performer for us this season.

I'm very excited for him. He played great at the end of the season last year and has had a solid preseason free of injuries.

Come on Ando, we're pulling for you. Now stake your claim.

This is his season to shine. He has done very good so far in pre-season. Now lets see if he can keep his fitness and do good for us when the season starts.

 Works for me, all the other Irish able to watch it?

I've always had the feeling that Anderson is the kind of player who needs to be constantly playing games if he's going to uncover his potential/best form.

For whatever reasons - fitness issues, settling in, discipline, form of others - he's not been able to put a long run of games together and establish himself as a consistent first pick in the United midfield.

I think that's got to happen at the start of this season if he and the club want to see if he can be the guy to do the role long term at United.

Not enough love for Ando today. He was superb that first half. 90 minutes as well.

I agree with Boss. I've been one of Ando's biggest critics last few seasons but he's looked really good last few games.

Keep it up, please!
