Great fit for the open right forward slot than being a right winger. He would have made sense from commercial standpoint since he is a puma athlete and they would have loved to associate with united. But the ship looks to have sailed and he may be heading to barca.

Griezmann would be a sensational signing. It's not as though we're stacked with world class talent up front, mates.

But it's not in the cards. And his new hairdo is a disaster.
He has a buzz cut now. Keep up with the fashion at least.

Lets presume that we want him and we buy him. Would he play on no10 or on right wing?

Second striker just off Lukaku. Like he does with Giroud and Costa. Right wing would be a waste of his qualities. He is deadly in central areas and the formation should change to two up top to accommodate that.

Have to fit him in at RW. He can drift in and play a free role similar to Sanchez on the other wing. We just need to get decent full backs to make this work.

Correct. I watch Atletico every week and it's very common for Griezmann to start a counter on the right hand side and cut in. He's basically great at following a managers instructions and he's great at finding space. Very intelligent, hard working and adaptable footballer. I'm utterly baffled at how many people (who probably haven't watched him all that much) think he can only play through the middle.

With a front three of Grizz, Alexis and Lukaku we'd have hard working players who can move around. Lukaku likes to come out right and can put a good pass in and Griezmann will find that space. With proper full-backs we'd have even more room for Pogba to operate and the front three would get a lot of space and time. We'd be a threat from wide positions, centrally and even with shots outside the box.

Agreed. There would be no unsolvable dilemma were Griezmann to join United.

Just the thought of a Sanchez, Lukaku, Griezmann front 3 is mind blowing. Poggy-Matic-Fred Midfield is also unreal. Full backs and we're sorted.

CB too if we have the dough.

How is Pogba Matic Fred midfield unreal? Fred hasn't even played a single minute in the PL. None of these can keep the midfield ticking. We need a Thiago type midfielder who does the basics right efficiently. Anyways don't want to derail the thread.

I agree the front three looks great on paper.

Assuming you’ve not seen Thiago this past season at least then. He’s really not become what people thought he would. I’m willing to bet on Fred being a very astute purchase. Pogba should really benefit from having a quality LB and midfield cover in a 4-3-3. Matic is Matic and should be better with more depth and squad options to give him some rest. Herrera, Carrick and Fellaini didn’t offer that last season with injuries, form etc.

The only source is a post on Reddit from someone claiming to be an ITK, who in the past may or may not have predicted a club business deal before it was publicly announced. Muppets can gorge on slim pickings.

Although I think he's dead.

All credible reports suggest he's deciding between joining Barca or remaining at Atletico (with the former considered the most-likely outcome). There are no links to United.

Feck me my heart aches at the thought of a chance AG moves and we miss out on him.

Such a world class player and him and Pogba on the same side as evident by their international play would be dynamic to say the least.

...I was so hyped last summer because all signs pointed to him joining us + with the propaganda and all (that cellphone commercial of him talking to “José”). I genuinely believe he stayed out of loyalty/respect for Madrid so they weren’t screwed by the ban. However, I don’t get what the point in respecting them and staying would be if he just hops over and joins Barca. That does way more harm and Madrid would’ve been better off had he joined United last summer so that’s what I can’t wrap my head around.

Just kinda upset and how it unfolded with him being linked to/favouring Barca now so I’m wondering, is there a chance he can still possibly join us? Like is there an off chance in the minority we’re we could get him or is it virtually zero? Because I’d be over the moon if we could get him and he comes in as our RW !

Griezmann just said in a post match interview that his future will be decided before the world cup. Let's hope so then, to spare us an overly long and frustrating summer.

Would genuinely believe us to be Title contenders again with Griezmann in our side. Glad we will find out sooner than later

Lol, surely people don't genuinely think there's a chance he is coming here?

No reports, nothing. He will most likely go Barca.

This deal died when he rejected us and we went for Lukaku

There was also no reports or nothing for Sanchez until the end game, everyone thought he was off to City. Could be the same situation with Griezmann. Not saying it will be cus I don't believe it'll happen but there's a possibility.

Actually, I prefer Mbappé over Griezmann at this moment.

Let's just say both clubs have paid the release clause. Which one would Griezmann choose?

Barca - same league, chance to play with Messi, compete for CL and La Liga

United - better pay(not sure), better marketability, one of the top dogs of the team, compete for PL maybe

If he makes the decision purely based on footballing reasons, I guess he'll choose Barca. If he wants to improve his brand, get better pay and be in the limelight, he'll choose United. But we are in a way better position to compete with Barca than we have been in years.

I would rather spend the money on Bale instead if it were between these 2 for the right wing spot.
Bale is just too risky. Cost, wages, injury record are all against him. Griezmann has a simple release clause and more reliable overall.

Out of interest, why would he announce his future in early July? There will be a World Cup going on
