That BT interview must have been directed by Jeroen. Pathetic.
Not really. I mean you haven’t won shit. That’s not a great season for Arsenal. Amazing things? Well you’ve had a good league campaign so far.

Still feeling bummed about the EL exit tonight, so hard to see the Silver lining. But theoretically, yes, this makes sense, with City having other priorities. Perhaps Pep's desperation to win the CL and with the question marks over the FA charges, he may be open to leaving sooner rather than later.120 minutes on a Thursday could usually spell trouble for them in their next league game on Sunday, however they couldn't ask for a kinder fixture than Palace at home to bounce back, Palace are awful.
They've got
Palace H
Leeds H
After that they have a run of
Liverpool A
West Ham A
Southampton H
City A
Chelsea H
Newcastle A
Brighton H
That's 5 top half half teams in the space of 7 games, with 4 away/3 home. If City are still within 5 points when Arsenal go to Anfield, Arsenal would do very, very well to still be top of the league after this run of games.
Then they finish the season with
Forest A
Wolves H
Big advantage is City are still in CL and FA cup. Arsenal have a clear run now at the league.
Yeah of course given your trophy cabinet is brimming with European trophies. All that mattered this week was the palace game. Last night was an unnecessary distraction that went horribly wrong. Win on Sunday and go 8 clear into the international break, is huge for our season.
120 mins and injuries don’t help though, it’s a massive game Sunday.
Dont think they meant to turn their nose up at Europe but the fact of the matter is we probably wouldn't have won the double. Our squad isn't deep enough, but I'm sure we'll improve that over the summer. On another day we would have won the penalty shootout. Arteta's priority is clearly on the league now and probably has been for some time. I can't say I blame him - I think he managed the squad pretty well. The injuries to Tomi and Saliba within 20mins would have hurt him.Yeah of course given your trophy cabinet is brimming with European trophies.
Exactly. The way some downplay the exit as if they have been winning european trophies for years. If tomorrow United get knocked out of europa , I will be gutted. No bs of ohh let us focus on top 4 crap. 5 plus years without trophies made me appreciate the league cup more and I would love if we win europa and FA cup as well.Yeah of course given your trophy cabinet is brimming with European trophies.
Are there Arsenal fans out there not disappointed? I'm sure everyone is pretty down but in the end Arteta had to prioritise the league over the EL and I think he made the right choice. As for our squad depth, we're similar to United really that we probably don't have enough quality to compete on multiple fronts. And I think your squad is more expensive than ours.Arsenal should be disappointed. If you can't handle 2 games in a week after spending so much and the manager being there for 3 years then Arsenal fans should be worried.
The poster who said “the only match that matters this week Palace” definitely isn’t. Big clubs go for everything they can. And I’m not suggesting arsenal didn’t but every competition not won should be a source of disappointment. Of course the league is the bigger priority but nothing is done and dusted and every possible success counts, especially given how little standing arsenal have in European competitions. Otherwise nobody would begrudge arsenal fans for caring more about league matches - just that comments like that earlier one are daft. Are there Arsenal fans out there not disappointed? If you could choose - would you prefer to win Carabao Cup and EL or the PL? I know which option I'd choose.
This was a close game, on another day we would have won the shoot out and Arteta would have looked like a genius. It didn't work out, I'm upset but my focus has been on the league for the past few weeks now. I never thought we were in for the double.

With that attitude it probably won’t be corrected for a few decades moreThat needs to be corrected, but not right now, this season is about the big one, the league title.

Sure you’d want to win everything, but I’d take winning a throw in on Sunday over winning last night.
I’m sure you’ll win lots of trophies for that throw in. But the Europa League is a big achievement for a club that has no achievements in European competition and has been surpassed by miles by another team in London in that regardYou can’t compare winning EL to winning the league , it’s not even on the same stratosphere of achievements. Sure you’d want to win everything, but I’d take winning a throw in on Sunday over winning last night.
That’s actually sadIf it means 1 winning league title then so be it

That's fair enough but us Arsenal fans are in Dreamland this season with where we find ourselves in the league. I've always tried to be "one game at a time" but it's getting harder not to have tunnel vision now. I don't think anyone would say that we'd realistically be in for the double with our thin and inexperienced squad. The poster who said “the only match that matters this week Palace” definitely isn’t. So let me get this right.
They have a documentary about a player coming back from injury?
I mean, its not that it was life threating injury or something. I mean I've seen it all but this kind of documentary, what the heck. That is a bit weird I do agree …
But Arsenal winning the league doesn't mean they are back.United won the EL, great achievement but no one said United are back where they belong on the back of it.
That will happen when you win the league. This is what’s at stake here, and when you got the Man City machine chasing you, it’s not an even contest. So certain sacrifices have to be made, for now.

Yep instead of having to play Thursday - Sunday and have pressure on them as City would have played on the Saturday they’ve a great chance of winning the league.I'm glad they're out but it could be good for them in the long run if they clear their heads. The 'every game is a cup final' cliche will be heard a lot but they can at least focus on every league game now unlike City who are in two other competitions.
