i don't care how it affects my top red status, i loved watching him as a player. one of my top 10 favourite players ever.
Yeah, I said it.
Yeah, I said it.
He was Inter's best player in his debut season but the next one was a failure, in part due to injuries.Bergkamp was just 'another player' in Inter, but became 'the' player in Arsenal side. A genius.
On the side issue about Luis Ronaldo; I dunno. I rate Romario and van Basten higher. They're more than just goals.
You're most probably right. I've only watched a handful of his games at Inter (a couple of full games, and some extended clips). On those games, seems like everyone wanted to be the creative force, and not fully using Bergkamp as their main fulcrum. He was Inter's best player in his debut season but the next one was a failure, in part due to injuries.
Agree on Romario. Better than Fat Ron.
Arsenal's Van PersieArsenal's Cantona
Well you also have Ramires in your current favorite players to watchi don't care how it affects my top red status, i loved watching him as a player. one of my top 10 favourite players ever.

I think you're fishing, mate. It's still the best goal I think I've ever seen. That goal of his against Newcastle everyone fawns over should have been a yellow card against him for raising his hands to the opponent. It was a blatant foul.
was he feckBergkamp was better than Cantona.
Romario better than the original Ronaldo? I don't think so.Agree on Romario. Better than Fat Ron.
you certainly know how to talk shitThat goal of his against Newcastle everyone fawns over should have been a yellow card against him for raising his hands to the opponent. It was a blatant foul.
I think Nils-Eric Johansson, late of Blackburn, might disagree with you there. Bergkamp was a hell of a footballer but he had a nasty streak to him that came out pretty frequently. Having said that, he did get a lot of stick from defenders and maybe some of the rough stuff was justified, but stamping on someone is unacceptable no matter what. Oh, and I include Cantona in that.Nothing wrong with the way he used his arms.

Well done! For a moment I thought you were serious. That goal of his against Newcastle everyone fawns over should have been a yellow card against him for raising his hands to the opponent. It was a blatant foul.
A statue??? feck off!!!...I haven't read much of this thread! Since when???Still think giving him a statue's a bit much.
Club legend. Deserves it.Still think giving him a statue's a bit much.
A statue celebrating dangerous play. The feck is that???
Couldn't agree more.I couldn't give a feck. I generally find the whole practice of erecting statues rather pointless. But looking at it from the club's point of view, Bergkamp deserves more than most to have a statue outside Ashburton Grove, a stadium which was constructed due to a significant contribution from him.
Statues are a load of old bollox unless you're dead - the sculptors they choose are cnuts,Couldn't agree more.
And he deserves it just for being that brilliant, even if the statue per se is cheesy.
People who claim they didn't appreciate Bergkamp are either outright lying, partisan to the point of insanity, or incapable of understanding anything about football.
They're pretty much bollox even if you're dead, I think -- but at least if that's the case you don't have to actually see the monstrosity.Statues are a load of old bollox unless you're dead - the sculptors they choose are cnuts,
It's NederlandBergkamp was a class act for the Bummers and Nederlands
