Burning is my #1, I think. I can't think of many films that I thought were exceptional to be honest.

Once Upon A Time In Hollywood is probably up there.

Oh, 'Get Out' as well, for sure.

No films on in the cinema this weekend that I fancy watching so I might finally get around to this. My friend, who got me in to watching films really, reckons this is his favourite film of the year so far.

Interstellar
Sing Street

Once Upon a Time in Holloywood.

OUaTiH could be recency bias but I thought it was just a masterclass in filmmaking and DiCaprio's best performance.

I dunno, the last 2 are a bit lazy, but I think they were pretty good.

Not a HUGE movie buff, but from the top of my head (in random order):

Shutter Island
Wolf of Wall Street
The Dark Knight Rises
Inception
The Grand Budapest Hotel
The Revenant
Wild
Everest

If the list were to include enjoyable, but not top class movies like various comedies it would probably be longer.

I really enjoyed Room as well actually, even if it did drag a bit.

Quite a few of the films mentioned star Jake Gyllenhaal.
I re-watched Nightcrawler last night as the wife hadn't seen it before. His performance in that is probably my favourite from anything in the 10's. Criminal that he wasn't nominated for it.

Yeah, he was great. The near-satire dynamic of his relationship with Nina (Rene Russo) was spot-on - you'd have thought they were talking about sex when they were discussing Lou's 'amazing' footage.
