Bitter spat between Man United technical director Darren Fletcher and angry fan at Old Trafford - with Scott McTominay also involved

Good on Fletcher. Shouldn't be an expectation for staff to sit there silently and take abuse while trying to do their job. They pay a lot for a ticket and it's an emotive sport which seems to make people feel as if they have license to do or say whatever, but it doesn't excuse idiocy quite frankly.

Didn’t seem that bitter of a spat, really. Bit of something out of nothing if you ask me.

Not a good look for Fletcher, if he was any fecking use he would be shouting at the lazy, dogshit players not the paying fans.

But if the report were true about all that fan had said, it's pretty tame from the fan, and Fletch showed that he's too sensitive.

I loved Fletcher as a player, but get him the feck out of this club. He's technical director of one of the biggest clubs in the world and he's never done the job. He doesn't even know what the job is, but it certainly isn't taking daily training and sitting on the bench on game day. Why is he getting into it with a fan? Why can't he accept fans aren't happy? Do we really think this guy that is arguing with fans should be one of the biggest influences in the biggest decision the club has made since SAF retired?

Don't know why Fletcher is even there. We let him complete his coaching badges with our reserve team 18 months ago and now he' steering the ship as 'technical director' and picking the new manager over someone with enviable experience as a DoF in Rangnick.

“Who the f are you?” A paying fan, one of millions without whom a rotational player like you who realistically only had around 2 truly top seasons would be absolutely nothing without their contributions to your wages.

Anyway, what is a technical director doing next to Rangnick? Is he Ralf’s boss or the 2nd in command? What’s Chris Armas then? An absolute shambles, we don’t even have hierarchical order at the top, and people expect us to challenge for the title. Imagine him sat next to EtH and RvP next season…

Maybe, if it was soft. But I think when you've been around football grounds and heard that special type of idiot trying to make a name for himself then I give Fletcher the benefit of the doubt.

I blame the "Would you boo..." Thread.

"You alright? you alright?"
How is that a bitter spat?
Bitter for the fan as it seemed like he was kicked out mid game, and facing the potential of being banned from attending game at OT.

You can understand his frustration. If he's being honest about that quote, he didn't said nothing abnormal. It's just Fletch happened to sit there and being too sensitive.

Both Scott McTominay and Fletcher involved? Likely a case of a fan refusing to accept or acknowledge Sir Alex Ferguson’s ongoing influence at Manchester United.

If anyone bothered to read the report the fan said he wasn't even saying anything to Fletcher, he was bemoaning the general lack of desire from the players and Fletcher seemingly took offense and yelled back, to which the fan then yelled back that none of you care and clearly you don't put in the effort. The fan is 100% correct if you read the article, they need telling and quite frankly the fact that Darren Fletcher is sat on the bench as a Technical Director is an absolute joke and a ridiculous nepotism appointment, him and Scott McTominay can both sod off as far as i'm concerned as the club is an absolute state and both are vastly underqualified and cannot back up their mouth with their ability

The assumptions made in this post are astounding

I bet Sir Alex Ferguson even hired the security guard who chucked him out. It’s like a spectre looming over the club.

So we've got a technical director asking fans "who the feck are you" and a player offering fans out for a fight

cracking under the pressure and the realisation that none of them are worth their big wages. Imagine being part of this season (especially from Rashford more than Fletcher and think yeah I’m going to tell a fan to feck off) mollycoddled to death up to this season the lot of them thinking they are gods gift.

Yeah, there's a lot of that when it comes to coaches and backroom staff. People don't know 99% of what they do, so they just fill in the gaps with whatever they want. That, or it becomes "he's on the bench, so sitting on the bench is all he must do" because that's the only thing we actually see.

You what?

Just a stupid joke based on your tagline, mate.

Maybe go read the reasons which are already well documented online rather than falling for yet another scapegoat narrative to through fans

Joke isn’t it, completely unprofessional from someone as high up as Sporting Director..

He really shouldn't be arguing with the fans. If he wants to argue because fans are now questioning his role or anything related that makes him touchy, he simply need to ask Ralf for a duel and argue there both mentally and physically. The club is in a mess now and if you want to ruin it further just fecking destroy it. 50:50 is boring, go all out. Manager vs Technical Director cage match. The winner gets a new statue in front of OT while the club itself gets relegated with Ronaldo in the team.

What are you talking about? What proof have you that he cannot do his job about looking after the youth pathway?

it would be more of a punishment for the fan for the club to lay on all expenses paid trips to every home game for the foreseeable future and force him to watch the shit served up week in and week out.
