He also manipulates his facts to suit his own purpose, which is ironic given his criticism of the media I should say.

Sounds like everyone for god's sake, but since we are critical of Bush and co. for doing so, why not be critical of a Mid-Western Populist as well.

Brilliant. Although i'd argue the local news in any country is excruciatingly bad.

have to disagree there sir, the american media is insane when it comes to peddling the paranoia. pre-9/11 or 11/9 i remember seeing a prime-time cbs news story on the dangers of diving into pools and getting paralyzed from the neck down. this was on one of the biggest news stations in the country.. ffs, that's not news, that's just drivel

I suppose I'll have to defer to you on this then.

I still can't say that I was convinced about any correlation between this culture and the large amounts of murders... the murders certainly feed the culture, but I don't think he was very convincing at proving that it works the other way too.

Music/Media are a reflection of society/culture to some degree. The US therefore has a huge influence on many cultures/countries.

I hate guns with a passion. If humans have no weapons they will hit each other, if they have knives they will stab each other, if they have guns they will shoot each other and if tactical nukes were available they would probably use them as well.

I would like to see all countries outlaw all guns with a few minor exceptions (Armed Forces etc). Since there are already hundreds of millions of in the US already and with no sign of meaningful gun reform this is all pie in the sky anyway. Other countries have gun problems as well so I'm not saying that it is a purely US problem (or solution).
