It's not so much about tactics but ability to do so. Can Shaw consistently run up and down the wing like Evra used to do? No. So when he plays, we don't.

Brandon Williams did some solid wingback play by consistently combining with Pellestri on the left.

@Rozay He might be a late bloomer!
im sure there’s heat maps or equivalent out there to prove or disprove this one way or another, for me Shaw looks like he does just what you’re describing and is currently one of the best LBs in the country/Europe. Would like to see his goal contributions increase but I’d still say he attacks the final third as good as most other LB’s.

Not sure if he can dislodge Leif Davis at left-back immediately but he's probably wanna join McKenna's project and also can play on the right.

Another unsellable. At least his contract is up after this season.

Good luck to the kid! Hopefully he can improve under the coaching of McKenna.

He’s maybe not the level required of a United player, but I wish we had more players with his fight in them.

I’m a Town fan, and I hate this kind of sh1t. At best it is deleted and forgotten about, at worst it comes back to bite us on the arse when we play them in December.

Also, 13 games into a 46 game season. Just STFU man.

It’s funny if he was still at united and we was in a position where he could do it to the bitters or the dippers it would be even funnier

Time to bring him back. Not a great player, but if its between Williams or Lindelof at left back, then I know who I'd rather watch.

Literally our last resort.

This. We need to recall one of Williams or Fernández. We don’t have a single fit left back. We can’t keep playing Lindelöf there.

Fernandez was sold, we cant bring him back unfortunately. But Williams should be back as soon as possible.

You can’t recall a player outside of a transfer window.

Also wrong.
You're right actually, I didnt realise the obligation to buy was only if he played 50% of remaining games. Regardless he wouldnt be able to feature for us if he has already featured for two other sides, if im not mistaken?

I think Brandon is also injured anyway so not going to solve any injury issues for us

We only have 2 options: to find someone in our youth teams (maybe there is a young LB), or to sign a free agent

Good grief. Our injuries are so bad that even players we’ve loaned out are injured. This is ridiculous.

Sutton was talking about Liverpool’s apparent injury crisis, but our injury crisis has been way worse, probably more so than any other team, yet has been largely ignored by the media.

Modern Football now dictates such huge intensity, some fans thought we were crazy signing Johny Evans as a 5th CB and look how he’s played, you now need 5 CB’s and 5 Full backs; Dalot is perfect as he can play LB and RB, inverted and as a wing back, AWB hugely underrated. As he’s a specialist one on one defender, Luke Shaw now needs serious competition like Theo Hernandez. We actually need to go get two fullbacks/wing backs one left footed and one right footed so that’s £80-90m investment needed with Malacia, Alvaro Fernandez and Brandon Williams will all be sold hopefully for about £25m for all three players. The reason we we need 10 defenders 2 or 3 are always injured 4 start and you need 2 or 3 on a 9 man bench.

I'm sure Williams is out of contract this summer

We absolutely do need to get a first choice LB. Shaw’s a crock and he’s never really recovered from that thundercnut Moreno breaking his leg.

United have a one year option so they will extend that to 2025 as his wages are rumoured to be £60k per week, they can trigger the extension then sell him for £7-8m as he’s another academy product who will represent 100% profit.

Totally agree, you’re probably more likely to get 30 great games out of Luke and someone like Hernandez could easily play 45-50 games, for me this is more important than a right back.

No one is paying £7-8m on Williams whilst he's on £60k a week and one year on his deal.

Best for both parties to let him run down the contract and let him go for free.
