Well you have more than one person disagreeing with you that the blame lies solely with their keeper.Again...they don't need a plan B, they need a goalkeeper who can make a save

Yeah, I think there are a few questions now. Potter is obviously an interesting character and coach, but they should be doing better and have the players to be winning games like today. They're bang in trouble surely now. Played Sheffield united, Burnley and West Brom all at home already, 0 wins.
Potter's a decent coach but way overrated based on a good showing in Sweden. Considering the flak Eddie Howe used to get on this forum even when he was finishing comfortably mid table at Bournemouth I think he gets off pretty lightly on here considering how savage this forum gets even with high achieving managers e.g. Hasenhuttl.
I actually think a problem is how their system is based a bit on the collective and they have no individual player capable of winning them games on their own like we had with Grealish last year and Palace with Zaha over last 3 years.
It isn't solely on the gk. They've been fairly unlucky and their finishing is an issueWell you have more than one person disagreeing with you that the blame lies solely with their keeper.
I agree I started the season full of optimism genuinely thinking we might even hit the top 10. I spent the first few games thinking we were just unlucky, but our performances (apart from West Brom) have been decent though they are not as good as they were at the begnning of the season. I genuinely think we are still safe from relegation, it's early days yet and there are definitely worse teams than us in the relegation mix. I also think we are due a run of form at some point, if only Maupay, Connolly and Trossard can get a couple of goals the confidence will come flooding back. Maupay went nine games last season without scoring and then found a bit of form again. I hope it's only 8 this season and he hits form again against West Ham, I think we are easily good enough to beat them, then again I thought that abut Fulham and Sheffield Utd too!@The Boy are you confident of avoiding relegation?
I have to say, I was full of optimism at the start of the season after some good performances v Chelsea and United. Unfortunately the team has regressed somewhat since - still playing relatively well (although not passing with the same accurary and urgency as earlier in the season), but the attackers at times look scared to be a bit more direct. We've had some very frustrating results, with the Sheffield United draw at the weekend arguably the most frustrating. Have to be beating West Brom, Sheffield United at home.
I think we have enough to stay up but need to find form soon - hope Potter can inject some urgency in our attacking play. And get Connolly working on his headers!
It's not really bizarre when you consider that they had a game on Sunday.Toothless. Getting rightly fully sucked into the relegation battle.
Making 6 changes at home vs Arsenal was bizarre and backfired, as expected.
That's my take on them (and Potter) too. They play pretty watchable stuff without being the light touches Bournemouth were but desperately lack quality in the final third. In my opinion, they are missing the forwards. They created lot of chances in first half but couldn't do enough to finish when in the box and it's been like that in most of their games this season.
Maupay has 5 goals in 14 games so not amazing but not terrible either like the three below who lack any sort of poacher striker in final third. Welbeck scored a few recently aswell although everyone knows his limitations. In my opinion, they are missing the forwards. They created lot of chances in first half but couldn't do enough to finish when in the box and it's been like that in most of their games this season.
Not sure I agree with you on Potter. I saw a stat the other day that they've had one home win in a calendar year, that's pretty poor.I think Potter has done a good job with them. They played well against Wolves, but I think people seem to have heightened expectations based on their performances earlier in the season. They have been severely punished by poor finishing in too many games this season that has put them in a difficult position. Based on performances, they should have beaten us, Chelsea, Crystal Palace, and Sheffield United. In those four games alone, they had 72 shots and only 15 on target. They also only managed 5 goals from all of those attempts.
Even against Arsenal, they had a lot of shots with a second-string team. In the end, Arsenal still has Aubameyang and Lacazette, who are far better than anything Brighton have.
Despite having some pretty average players, Potter has managed to get them playing some very good football. I hope they stay up as I think, mainly, it is the poor finishing that is reflecting poorly on Potter. I think if he had better players, his style of management would work really well.
I agree that they bottle it far too much in front of goal but I think you're also overlooking how many daft goals they concede. It's a mentality problem at both ends which is why they get so many draws - they're decent players - but when it counts their forwards can't put the game to bed and their defence /midfield give away awful goals regularly.I think Potter has done a good job with them. Gross is crap. I think he's alright at penalties but otherwise he does nothing but give the ball away whenever I've watched him.Not sure I agree with you on Potter. I saw a stat the other day that they've had one home win in a calendar year, that's pretty poor.
I don't think the football they play is that good really.
I like Lamptey and Bissouma seems to be doing well but the rest of them are bang average.
I don't know whether I'm seeing something different to everyone else but I can't understand why he's freezing out players like Ryan and Gross. They're not top quality but I think they're better than the players ahead of them. I'm not sure if there's been something going on behind the scenes, there's been one or two disciplinary problems with Maupay but he comes across as a bit of a twat anyway.
It would be harsh to sack him, considering they aren't even in the relegation zone. What are the expectations for Brighton? Probably just hoping not to get relegated; they don't have the resources to do anything more than that. And possibly hoping to be a bit more entertaining, which they have been this season. Brighton was a boring team under Hughton, and I had no interest in watching them.I agree that they bottle it far too much in front of goal but I think you're also overlooking how many daft goals they concede. For me it comes down to the coaching. He's trying to play a style that needs a class ball playing DM to work and/or ruthless finishers up front and he doesn't really have either of those things so he needs to adapt. There's still enough quality in that team to get results if the coach sorts himself out. Personally I'd sack him, I'm sure there's other people around who could do a better job. Even Slaven Bilic would get more out of them I think.
They have only had two wins all season but really should have at least five. Poor finishing has had such a massive impact on their season so far, I find it difficult to blame Potter for it. They should really be at 23 points now and in a pretty healthy position. Their general play has been good in most games but is limited by the players. Not sure I agree with you on Potter. I saw a stat the other day that they've had one home win in a calendar year, that's pretty poor.

Your team has been playing very good football. Maunpay works as hard as possible, always! He offers a lot, but I just feel pity for you guys that your team deserves a better forward than him in front of goal. He lacks some necessities to score goals for those chances. Many of those draws would have been wins if you have Lookman I think.Really pleased with that peformance, we completely outplayed Spurs, which isn't something I ever thought I'd be able to write.
Mac Allister is improving every game and looking much more like the player we expected when he arrived along with Trossard and Maupay the front three are finally beginning to click and look dangerous, I think this is mainly down to a bit of consistency in them playing together, whereas earlier in the season Potter was swapping players in and out of our front line every game.
March is looking good down the left and Lamptey will soon be back to balance out the right hand side, Bissouma is looking awesome and though I fully expect him to go to Arsenal in the summer, he'll be a crucial part of the rest of this season. Gross is playing well and Izquierdo was finally back on the bench.
Good times for Albion supporters finally, bring on Anfield, we'll probably lose, but 7 points from the last 9 means we're not scared of anyone at the moment.
How do you think you’ll approach that game? Teams normally sit in against us but you look like a good footballing side based on what I saw today. Think you’ll try and go toe to toe?Really pleased with that peformance, we completely outplayed Spurs, which isn't something I ever thought I'd be able to write.

Not sure that he's be the right player to play a double pivot alongside Fred. Bissouma is a good disruptor, is tidy with the ball nd can dribble the ball forward between the lines powerfully. He has a habit of drawing in opposition players and then playing the ball out safely to someone in the space he's created.@The Boy
How well do you think Bissouma would fit into United’s midfield?
Always looked a tidy and robust player whenever I’ve seen him (admittedly not often at all) with an ability to play through the lines. Would probably end up costing 1/2 the fee Rice would command as well.
Him and Fred might be a midfield that lacks some stature and authority though.
I think we'll definitely have a go and press high up the pitch as we did at the Amex in November. Actually I thought that was a really good game to watch and though you had a bit of makeshift midfield that day, we gave a you a good run for your money. This one will be even more interesting as you have found your feet again after a wobble and we are full of confidence with a more settled team. If I had to bet, of course I would back Liverpool, but I'm more confident of pulling something off this week than I was when we drew at the Amex. How do you think you’ll approach that game? Agree this. I have watched several BHA games this season. Your team always wants to play your own football no matter what.I think we'll definitely have a go and press high up the pitch as we did at the Amex in November.
