Would be nice to hear from Joel Glazer who he rates then and who he is willing to buy. What an absolute mess the club is in

He doesn't think Bruno will score enough touchdowns here next season

Getting upset at how the club is run over a story from the Sun is the dumbest possible thing anyone can ever do.

He will go to Wolves for a cheaper fee, he will help them leapfrog us. Our board will still be dithering and rationalizing to each other how doing nothing is the best solution.

Just waiting for the ITK tweet "Bruno deal almost completed with collapse imminent."

People are already upset over how the club is run, for reasons far more important than Bruno Fernandes. They are also already upset about our lack of urgency in the transfer market this month considering how depleted our squad is. A story about this deal potentially breaking down just compounds that feeling.

Yeah, that's why you can get reasonably upset over actual things wrong with the club, not over a made up story from the Sun.

Just because United is shit, doesn't mean that every single story from every terrible source is true.

Exactly. People are overreacting because we are a mess and haven't signed anyone. Bruno , if signed for what SP is asking, will add to the list of average players stealing a living and blame Ed for not scouting properly.

Rather sign some midfielders or forwards .
We clearly don't think he's average, or we wouldn't be interested at all. If we've got this far, it's because someone at the club rates him. Someone who knows more about football than some weasel-faced American business man.

And he's an attacking midfielder, which is one of many positions we need to improve.

Seems strange that Sporting would sign Šporar if their financial troubles are as bad as reported, without knowing that they are due to get a chunk of money. Not surprising that they want to hold out for as much as possible though, considering they will only actually get about half of the fee.
It could just be that they are sure that they will sell him either now or summer. It doesn't mean they are necessarily going to sell to United.

Its clearly obvious that Bruno isnt being signed because he isnt a long term target. Either Madison or Grealish are, probably Madison. Madison ticks all of our boxes. English, even better, he is white and commercially probably will be a more popular player too. Good looking. Worth overpaying, worth paying 80-90 million to get. This season be damned..

We are shambles. The way this club is run is a joke.
In the summer we will probably sign Madison and Longstaff or Declan Rice.

He cost 7m and apparently they have a deal with a bank that they can pay it back in the summer

So you're upset that we are not signing someone who isn't a long term target? Isn't signing pure crap one factor that has got us into this mess?

I think our valuation of Bruno Fernandes is far closer to his true value. When Mendes is trying to flog someone, suddenly every player and manager from Portugal is coming out in the media saying the player for sale is the new Pele. More often than not his clients flop.
Gelston Martins, Joao Mario, William Carvalho, Bebe, Anderson etc were all hyped by The Portuguese media as being the new Cristiano. Mendes is a smart man but also very crafty. You know there'll be healthy servings of BS in the media when he's involved and more often than not, the players he sells go for double what their true value is.
Whilst true, he is clearly one of the best players in that league

But as much as we need signings, we need to stop this cycle of being taken to the cleaners on every transfer.
It's in the nature of negotiation that you get a better deal when you are in a position of strength, and a worse deal when weak.

We are desperate, everyone knows we are, and unless we want to just keep rolling the dice on Championship players - basically turning ourselves into Southampton - we will need to pay well over the odds for quality players (*) until we look like something other than a total fkn disaster. That's just life.

(* Unless we are negotiating with someone who is worse than the Ed/Judge team, which is reeeeeally unlikely)

Starting to smell serious incompetence to concluding a deal by our boy Ed here.
Do you dislike Ed that much?

The reports are literally stating that Eds trying to get a deal together and Joel Glazer is the one pulling the plug

Can’t make a deal when the money’s being pulled away from beneath you!

If Ed thinks he’s getting abused now, just wait until he doesn’t sign Bruno.

What? The only obvious thing is that we are refusing to pay the money that Sporting demand. Why that is the case could be for any of a few reasons.

The problem is that we are a club that is desperate for quality and we have money and we approach transfers like a shotgun scatter blast. Throw out a bunch of names and try to land one. The only way to stop the cycle is to recruit correctly and be decisive, be a sniper riffle 1 shot = 1 kill. If Ole and our scouts believe that a particular player is "the right player". then we need to pay whatever it takes to get that player right then and there. Not haggle until he goes elsewhere and then we are stuck overpaying for our 2nd and 3rd options, and paying a salary they aren't worth - right now we have a bunch of 2nd and 3rd options on 1st choice money. When you have a team full of the right players you are no longer a "desperate club" that has to pay over the odds. The right players means success and successful clubs arent desperate

The press is clueless, but I believe the only hard facts are that they need to sell and we’re interested. If that’s the case, a deal must happen as both clubs are screwed if it doesn’t. I can see this going through the last day or two of the window.

they need to sell but they received only 1 legit offer during the summer and refused it, and now they offered us the player but won't budge off the evaluation price. Just my opinion, but it doesn't sound like a club that has to sell a player, more like if they can get great value they will.

Joel Glazer's name gets flung in there now when we make odd decisions. No Bruno = Joel. Keeping Martial when manager wanted rid = Joel. Not letting Rojo go = Joel. Surprised he's not getting his name attached to the Maguire negotations.

Ed can’t do anything without any money!!!

Literally not Eds fault at all

Never thought I'd read that, the man literally runs the club, if he's not to blame for us having no money who is?

Sky saying we're only willing to offer 42million for him. If true no wonder they told us to get stuffed.

We only sign white players. Like Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Fred, Bailly, Martial etc.

(I literally have no idea what he's going on about).
He's obviously talking about needing to sign more attractive players to be the face of the club, stunners like Maguire
