Your creature has half a leg missing and looks to be off to do some gardening.
It's got a kickass pitchfork. What's the blue thingy holding? A stop/go sign?

Top class banter this.

What makes a pitchfork "kickass"? Can you one legged monster clear leaves extra fast with it? Ohhh, scary!

And ours is holding a staff (like Gandalf, therefore badass), it's not a fecking lollypop lady.

Rafael will be missed, but I'm sure Smalling/Jones can do the deed for us. I wouldn't be too surprised if it was Valencia though.

De Gea, Smalling, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Nani, Carrick, Cleverley, Giggs, Rooney, Hernandez.

It's not going to be holding anything for long, it's just ignited its own tail. What a weapon.

I think Jones (subject to him being fit) Giggs and Cleverley would have started as a midfield trio, but with Rafael's injury he might play at right back, and Carrick having to put in another shift.

RvP, Valencia, and Young will be benched in favour of Rooney, Chica, and Nani.

We have to win this. They are awful. No sitting back this time, play our game and we should do this.

There's no way you can go in with that quartet in midfield. Who would provide the defensive cover?

This front 6 for me:

Cleverley Carrick Giggs
Nani Chicarito Rooney

Midfield three would hopefully ensure we don't get dominated there especially as Carrick might be a bit tired and leggy. Nani and Giggsy would add good outlets out wide since that's a spot Chelsea can be got at since their 'wide players' don't give their full backs too much cover.

Was gonna say about one of the posts above, Giggs and Cleverley as a midfield 2? Shikes!

Still, only a day to wait to find out now...hopefully is another great game of our times.

First time I've said it this season but "I don't have a good feeling about this one".

Normally I'd put Kagawa or Anderson ahead of Clev in that formation, but as both played yesterday, this is the most likely line-up I'd say as long as Nani is fit enough. IF not then Val instead of him.

Hernandez will score, that's all we can be certain about what will happen here.

To balance out all the assumptions, I don't think Hernandez will score.

I'm more and more annoyed that United threw away a comfy match against Chelsea at Old Trafford. Chelsea weren't even particularly good, we just made them look it with all the space we afforded them.

Think we will be punished and Chelsea will win. It's probably their biggest game of the season. Hope I'm wrong.

Never usually say stuff like this, but I've had a feeling that we're destined to win the FA cup this season ever since that late RVP goal at West Ham. It'll be a rollercoaster of a ride, but I think that we're going to finally win the dam thing again.

Chelsea have their hands full trying to compete on 3 fronts at the moment.
Not coming top 4 in the league would be an absolute disaster for them.

Hopefully we take the best bits from the games we've had at the Bridge so far this season, and not the collapse parts...

Steady! We've already had (and lost) bigger games this season and we have another, bigger game on thursday.

We've won the FA cup quite a few times recently, it's 3rd on my list of priorities for the rest of the season (top 4 and europe being the other two of course).

duffer thinks they're guaranteed a win. He's just being silly.

Go away silly duffer, because I think United are going to win. And United have Hernandez while Chelsea have Azpilicueta.

Can I ask you duffer, who's more likely to score? Hernandez or Azpilicueta?

I think we both know the answer to that. It's written in red.

The lady doth protest too much, methinks.

I don't see why Carrick can't play again. It's hardly been a massively taxing month or so for our players, and despite the lack of goals from us the Sunderland match was pretty routine, very comfortable apart from a twenty minute period between Anderson hitting his usual fatigue point and being substituted off for Cleverley.

So I'd go with:

DDG
Jones Ferdinand Evans Evra
Carrick Cleverley
Nani Rooney Kagawa/Welbeck
Hernandez

Smalling, for me, either needs to get much better at long passing quickly, or stop trying it. Too many times this season it's seemed like he's giving the ball away as often as the rest of the team combined.

I expect a minimum of 7 in the line up games competition from everyone. It seems as if 7 are nailed on for me at least in De Gea, Ferdinand, Evans, Evra, Giggs, Rooney, Cleverley. I'd say Carrick and Hernandez are very, very likely to start too. The only question mark is obviously the right back slot and who will be on that right wing.

Surprised at the number of line-ups omitting Welbeck. I think Fergie is bound to start him after he sat out most of yesterday's game.

Eden Hazard kind of ran the show when he came on as a sub in the second half at OT. I wonder if we will have Jones do a job on him in midfield?...
Interestingly Marnick Vermijl has travelled with the squad... Surely just as cover since Rafa is out?

This would be my expected lineup but I think Welbeck will start instead of a toss up between him and Kagawa. Lindegaard may come in if DDG feels any effects after the game.

Will be tough but we cant use the excuse of tiredness - the team will only have 2/3 players who played saturday. I felt wary going into the last game at the Bridge but we came out like a house on fire and really pushed them on the back foot so more of the same.

That game was on MUTV earlier and we were shocking after scoring the winner, despite Chelsea only having 9 men.

I think probably our best performance against Chelsea this season came the one time we actually lost, in the capitol one cup. I'd take another poor performance if it leads to a win

If we're to win it, we'll have a bloody hard run, Chelsea away then City.
And one of those stupid years where the final is less of a challenge than the semi! Or even quarter for us,

At least if Chelsea do win, they'll actually have to earn an FA cup for once, rather than the typical runs they get beating about 1 premier league team on route.

Go on, make it happen again I dare you! This time DDG wont save it in the last minutes :smirk:
