Superb player with just a year left on his contract. What do we think is a reasonable price?

Not gonna happen.

A champions league place is much more lucrative to Spurs than any fee we'd be prepared to pay for Eriksen.

Plus, what's all this "United aren't sure whether Pogba will be here at the start of the season"???

He has a contract with us. Where's the uncertainty?? The ball is very much in our court in that regard.

Our transfer window closing early is super dumb. Puts the English at a big disadvantage. Europe will just wait for the PL money to leave the market then low ball everyone.

I think Levy would rather take £50m from Atleti or Juve than take £60-70m from us.

Just can't see it. At least we're trying to get something done, even if it appears to be so scattergun. We need more.

Still waiting for the Youthquake
I think its going to be a worrying period for spurs and united if nothing happens before the UK transfer deadline time because there will still be interest from Europe for Erikson and Pogba but with no possibility to replace them... id also (unfortunately) concede that spurs are probably better able to cope without Erikson than us without pogba as its always been dificult to get him and ali in the same team without one playing out of position and they have ndombele who has strengthened their midfield as well as winks how developed a lot last season.

Id love to see

Martial.........Rashford.......Greenwood
..........Pogba............Erikson............
...................Matic?........................

ok so we need a matic upgrade as well but Pogba and Erikson would be great though I think if we do get Erikson its indicative that we will loose Pogba

I saw Erikson many times last season. I moved to London recently and my work colleague is a spurs fan, so I went to Wembley quite a bit. Let me tell you, he's not the player he once was, he was really sluggish and lost the ball quite a lot. He hardly ran and mostly jogged around waiting for the ball to come to him, and when it did come he was brushed off it quite easily like Mata. I think he would be quite a frustrating player if he were to come to United.

Just my observation from seeing him in live matches, not just the televised matches that most people here would have seen him. Interesting to see what Spurs fans make of his performances last season?

He needs a new challenge. His heart ain’t in London anymore

Pogba will not leave this summer, Real can't afford what United are demanding this summer.

Swap Matic with McSauce, though I do agree we need better quality in the DM role. We won't get it this window probably a position to improve next summer.

Prediction: Levy will purposely waste our time letting us think we have a chance of signing him, then pull out last min leaving us with nothing. No way in hell is he selling to us.

Windows over. We start shopping at Spurs when we're pretending to buy someone.

It's all posturing.

Apart from Madrid don't see these clubs paying. They'll just wait to sign him on a precontract in January.

Do this and keep Pogba. I’ll go as far to say we’ll win the league.

But

A) We won’t sign Eriksen

B) The article says we’ll effectively only sign Eriksen as a Pogba replacement

I can't see this happening as he will have so many clubs after him next summer, and on top he can get much better personal package.

If we managed to get him for cir £60m then I'd be happy to offload Pogba for £120-130m, I can't believe Erikson is just a year older but his all round game is a lot more mature in comparison, and he'd give a better balance to the team - unlike Pogba.

If he worths 80m, pay 80m, no matter how many years left on his contract. Just get him

Only reason Levy would sell is if he needs funds straight away for Lo Celso or Bruno...

Surely Spurs would just sell him in January? Can't understand why they'd let him go now if he dosen't get a move to Real Madrid.

They'd end up getting a lot less in January when he is free to negotiate with foreign clubs and move for free in the summer.
If Spurs want money for him then it is now or never.

Hazard went for a hundred and he had 1 year left. Granted, he's great. But 130M is what I'd expect from Levy selling Eriksen to United. They still feel hard done by Carrick/Berba.
Hazard is a top 5 player in the world. Eriksen is great but nowhere near that calibre. They'll be lucky to get 50m with 1 year.

That is exactly what everyone said about Toby. Reckon Spurs are willing to take that risk.
Also as crap as we have been I am sure levy sees the danger in letting us have Erikson. We could probably close the gap between ourselves and Spurs with a midfield that has Pogba and Erikson

No one is going to be desperate enough to pay money for him in January just to have the privilege of him for the final 4 months of the season. It's now, never (if he signs a new contract) or next summer

You really think Levy sees it that way? Leicester have forced us to pay out 80m for Maguire all the while knowing he's not as good as VVD

I agree. But I really really really don't think they want to sell him to a rival. If we're even still considered to be a rival. It would be a BIG problem for Spurs if they are still being picked off by a club lower than them on the table and historically known for buying their players. Spurs used to be (erroneously) considered to be a bit of a feeder club for us.
