Remove that Aguero moment and give us the title, relegated to the lowest tier and finally remove their Champions league trophies.

If they get caught they will be punished or no one would take EPL serious anymore.
What would be point of the league if one team can cheat for over a decade and get away with it. And teams and fans would always ask did they cheat again.
Neither city or the PL will care. They will have too many brown envelopes to deal with.

Stripped of all the titles won since the takeover. Fined 500 million. Points deduction this season that will ensurre they get relegated and start the season in the championship with deficit points. Transfer ban for 4 years. Public apology to Klopp and the scousers.

Whatever punishment they get wont be enough because they've cheated for 15 years.

As I have always maintained, whatever City do does not count. They can win 25 straight PL titles for me and it's meaningless.

“You lot may all be internationals, and have won all the domestic honours there are to win under (Pep Guardiola). But as far as I’m concerned, the first thing you can do for me is chuck all your medals and all your caps and all your pots and all your pans into the biggest f*cking dustbin you can find. Because you’ve never won any of them fairly. You’ve done it all by cheating.”

- 15 points, a transfer ban for 1-2 transfer windows and a fine of some millions of pounds is maximum City are going to get. Forget the relegation and stuff. They have money power.

They have to hire a managerial duo of Moyes-Solskjaer for eternity

I will be pleasantly surprised even with this “punishment”. A nation/state have tremendous power. Emirati rulers will take this personally and will mount political pressure on PL through UK Gov-t.

UAE is a heavyweight state despite its size.

1 point deduction for each breach.

That should give them a 100 point deduction this season and set them up nicely for relegation. Would be hilarious to see the players jumping ship in May and even more hilarious to see Haaland play in the Championship. Pep would likely walk.

This needs to happen ASAP, the Premier League can't have them challenging in April despite being charged with cheating for years.

Let them keep the tainted trophies.

Liquidation of the club seems a proper punishment for this. Erase them from the history books, including on years before they started to cheat. Remove any occurrence of 'Manchester City' from wikipedia, remove their games from 'Youtube'. Ban the phrase 'Manchester City' in English. Burn all the Oasis albums.

More seriously, a demotion to third-fourth level, removing their titles and cups during the period of fraud (based on severity of fraud)*, force a selling of the club and a massive point deduction in the new season.

* I wouldn't give those titles to anyone though. Just void them.

Also, if proven, players who participated in getting money under the table should be persecuted for fraud and tax evasion.

This is the thing, City's owner is the vice president or equivalent of the country.

There is no way they are getting punished. Political power will come into play with this.

If they are not getting relegated a 15 point deduction every season for the next 14 years to make up for the last 14 years of cheating they got to start on the back foot every single year for over a decade.

Carry on playing for the next 3 seasons. But win, lose or draw, they will get zero points. And bar them from any cup games. See how much their players like to play for pride.

If their titles do get stripped, Ole would've won the league

This with a transfer ban is the only correct answer. I have a feeling the PL will want to take a stand after all the work that has gone into building this case.

I don't think it would be unreasonable to drop a small nuclear bomb on them

Relegation to the Championship seems too little of a punishment because they'll be straight back up within a year.

Arguably they should be sent back to the beginning and start over in League 2

Relegation outside the football league, strip them of all their titles, their new jersey to say 'Manchester is red', all oppo fans to do the poznan before every game and liam Gallagher forced to sit in a room with the prem league lawyers laughing in his face before every city game in the lower leagues.

They’ve been cheating for ages and people move on. PL will do the bare minimum.

Looking for the answers...
Get the 19 other PL clubs to refuse to play city. Surely a class action type suit where the collective will of the other teams will force the PL into meaningful action.

Its an extensive and huge breach of the integrity of the league.
In my opinion they should be relegated to the bottom of the English ladder or disqualified from the premier league.

Internationally, having a league or selling rights for a league where a team has systematically cheated over a prolonged period is nothing short of scandalous.

10 or 15 points would be enough if it was one breach but so many over such a long period, they have to go. Lets not forget it doesn't include the last 5 years because city refused to provide detail - not suspicious at all.

Just like in the Olympics, when an athlete "wins" but then are found to be guilty of doping, they void the win and move everyone else up 1 place. Void their titles. Award the league win to the 2nd place team.

This opens up a whole new can of worms, because whoever was in 5th should have made Champions League, 6th should have made EL, and potentially relegated teams also have a case they were cheated by City.

The league should void all their title wins, and turn whatever scoreline into a 0-3 defeat. That would mean obvious relegation, which gives the league itself cause to sue City, and so on. 14 years of clubs being cheated, all with a reason to sue.

Basically City's cheating upended the fairness of multiple competitions (League Cup, FA Cup, Premier League, Champions League) with financial implications. Allowing them to stay in the Premier League, or Champions League, is like letting a bank robber keep the money they stole after paying a small fine. City's status is what they bought, so that status must be taken away.

We need extraordinary unprecedented sanctions:
City need to be relegated, maybe to the 3rd tier with an additional points reduction to guarantee they don't bounce back up. Look what happened to Juventus and that was just for a couple seasons' worth of cheating.
Transfer bans for multiple seasons.
Titles voided, 2nd place club now awarded as league winners (knock on).

Their lawyers will be busy for the next decade.

Owners of the other clubs will care.
You don't eventually buy UTD and build new stadium to watch getting outcheated.
People will move their money somewhere else to invest.
Nothing is infinite, just ask Seria A.
