City schadenfreude - what would you like their punishment to be?

Exactly. City should be outright expelled out of the Football League and forced to start all over again from scratch.

If it was for me, City would also see their titles revoked just like Juventus tasted that in the fallout of the Calciopoli scandal.
That would be fair. They need to make an example of them to send a strong message to Newcastle.

Yeah lets warn Newcastle who've done nothing wrong about their potential financial cheating because City cheated. Not Todd Boehly who's already making bids on the titles City are having revoked.

The DS hack promoted the investigation but the investigation is directly between the PL and City, City lost in court and have to provide them with what they ask for so any information they have they can use.

Personally I think their only option, assuming City are guilty, will be to copy the Serie A model, title strip and relegate. City will be back up in a season and probably back in the CL within another 1-2 years (even though they've cheated to get there you can't erase what they've built commercially) and it's the only way the league saves any kind of face.
Never mind Pep and the players but will the owners want to stay around if they are relegated? I don’t think they will.

Look, these posts seem over the top, but they have literally fraudulently abused their position in the footballing pyramid for 15 years. They have stolen valour. It shouldnt be out of the question that they be expelled from the league. That goes for anyone who does that. Us included.

Chelsea deserve to be punished as well. The fact that two oil clubs have 11 PL titles between them is a disgrace.

They cant survive expulsion. If they found guilty on few of these charges they will face expulsion.

Jokes aside they genuinely should lose all Premiere Leagues + Cups won in the period they've been investigated for.

This is a team owned by people richer than most people could imagine.....A fine is pointless.

Deducting points or relegating them is also pointless, it just means they get to keep anything they've won while cheating.

Reality is, they'll prob get a fine and some points off next season. The Prem want to keep attracting the big investors.

Give them a test.

If they manage to fill their stadium for every game until the end of the season, no action will be taken, fail and you're relegated - no actors or blow up dolls allowed.

Stripped of all prem titles, which are then awarded retrospectively to second placed clubs.
Assigned to 20th place in prem at end of season.
3 year transfer ban.
Long bans for owners and others implicated.

1. Stripped of all their titles - no champions for those seasons, not even second place get it for obvious reasons.

2. Twenty points deductions for current season or potentially relegate the cnuts.

3. Transfer ban for the next 3 windows.

 Nice one alright.

That and City having to be run by the same folk that run Everton.
Surely no one deserves that much punishment though?

Strip the titles, relegate them with no promotion clause for few years.

Stripped of ownership and titles, relegation, points deduction for each season they cheated in, transfer and sponsorship bans.

For season 2005-2006 calciopoli Juve got relegated and Inter became champions. This should be applied to City.

Lose because of the investigation or lose after the investigation is complete?

Relegation paired with a transfer ban is the only option that actually punishes them.

A point deduction just means they wont play Champions League next year which would all but guarantee them another title in 23/24. A financial penalty against people with unthinkable amounts of wealth will do nothing and might even encourage more cheating. You have to remove them from top flight competition and stop them from spending their monopoly money or you might as well drop the charges right now.

Strip their titles and award to second place, don't need to relegate them but a points deduction, and going forward have an independent arbiter given complete and ongoing access to all their accounts with the ability to review sponsorships and the like to make sure they reflect fair market value.

Seems fair to me, not overly punitive but ensures fairness going forward and removes their success gained previously, it's not as massively unlikely as things like relegation to league 2 or whatever

You do know who came in second place more often than not right?

Nah, strip of all titles during that period and do a rangers on them too by forcing them to begin again from the bottom. They can compete with wrexham.

If its up to 2017/18 then us twice. If up to the present day both us and Liverpool get 3 more each

Normally I’d be against title stripping and relegations but the fact they have behaved arrogantly about everything, I think they deserve the harshest of punishments. They have done everything in their power to prolong and derail investigations. If they were so innocent they would have just handed everything over and given everyone the middle finger when the results were published. Honestly they’re disgusting.

just like how everyone said that those breaches are unprecedented, so the punishment should also be as harsh as they should be. Relegation is a minimum I think if we consider poorer clubs who got relegated for 'less serious'' issue.

I hope Pep absolutely destroys them in the media and walks away, he's Pep, he'll find a job in football. Then hope no reputed/talented manager works for them.

This will hurt them in the long run more than a point deduction or stripping them off any titles.

Juve got relegated just for a little match fixing. Should also be stripped titles and a Euro ban for five years. That stops the attraction for top players no matter how much money they can offer.

The phrase "hypothetical punishment" needs to there in the title.

They will get away with it, just like always.

If they get caught they will be punished or no one would take EPL serious anymore.
What would be point of the league if one team can cheat for over a decade and get away with it. And teams and fans would always ask did they cheat again.

owners should be banned from owning a PL club and forced to sell
I feel this is the most fair solution. Also all the directors and executives that were involved should be banned from doing any functions again. They can give a ban to the club for few years or something but the fans shouldn't suffer as much as the people who cheated and tainted the club's name.
