Why is no-one worried about him being 36? Isn't he too old now? What am I missing?
But what are the reasons to worry? He is a great finisher and header of the ball, his task is to convert chances, that’s it. With the creativity in the team, Ronaldo may easily get 40 goals in all competitions.

Ronaldo is a freak of nature. United believe he’ll still be a top player for years to come too. I think he’ll genuinely be World Class at 40.

Tom Brady just won his 789th Super Bowl with Glazers Bucs and he’s just turned 44. Still one of the best there is. You’ll get occasional freaks of nature.

Tom Brady is the GOAT, his game is way less reliant on athleticism, though - have you ever seen him run the football?

Thats a good example..

We have not bought him as a Winger. or a speed wizard...
maybe you forgot how Giggs adapted his game as he got older?
We did not get him to run up and down the pitch all day. even the pace he has now is more pace than a lot of other players.

and its not like we bought him for the next 5 years...hes a good addition and im more than happy with that.

He scored 73 goals in the past 2 seasons, and outscored Lukaku despite playing for a worse team last season in the league. Guy is still an elite poacher.

Doesn’t have anything to do with that, the potential hitch is the PL rules for changing numbers at this stage. If that can be bypassed the 7 will leave Cavani ASAP.
well seems we have to request special permission from the PL…. I would guess we would?

What’s the obsession with speed? When he retires he’ll be faster than Ruud ever was. That didn’t stop Ruud from being an exceptional scorer.

Didn't it take him like a dozen seconds to run box to box to finish a Portugal counter against Germany at the Euros this summer?

He might reserve his energy more these days but he doesn't seem that much slower at top speed.

He'll probably play every minute of every game this season and be flogged to death by Ole, who doesnt know how to rest players. How many games were there when bruno should of come off or not played at all. Then he got to the euros and was a shell of himself and burnt out. All thanks to Ole.

Thought about it a bit -
Lingard, James, Martial, Amad, in that order, need to be sold or loaned.

Think a 2-striker formation partnering with Greenwood will suit Ronaldo, it can't be a 4-4-2 for Bruno, so a diamond or 3-5-2. Which leaves a massive question about RWB and a big question mark over Sancho - he can *maybe* be shoehorned into the RCM position of a diamond?

Maybe change formations depending on personnel each game, lots of rotation? Not been Ole's style so far.

I hope you're right and I'm not saying you're wrong. I'm a little nervous that it hasn't been thought out properly and basically this was muppet fodder. Our old player big name signing record is rather chequered and we all know why Ed 'Walt Disney' Woodward does it.

Anyway I had to eat sh3t over Cavani signing along with many others so I'm not going to say this is a mistake. Just puzzled.

We have been trying to play a 2 striker formation for the last 2 games with weird loop-sided shape which needs to be fixed.

But, I agree that against weaker teams, a 2 striker formation would suit the players we have, obviously with heavy rotation, especially if we keep Pogba further up. Sancho could probably play in behind them in some of the games.

Have you signed him yet or is this going to be another Varane?
It doesn’t matter if we sign him or not. He can’t play play tmrw. Might as well let him finish his international break and then settle in in Manchester.

If you're asking these questions you clearly have no idea and need to go and watch Ronaldo from last season and the Euros.

If the goal vs Udinese is approved last week - Ronaldo wouldn't have left Juventus. You can see the squad trying to fire him up and make him stay, and you can see how the VAR check broke him.

However we shuffle them around, there isn't going to be much time for those 4 players. Martial gets in a 3rd choice striker in a pair, if Greenwood and Rashford are missing. Amad is both Sancho and Greenwood are out.

the key to get that diamond working is to have Sancho play a Iniesta or Silva-type role. It would be extremely dangerous if that works out.
even the 4-2-3-1 can work if bruno plays as a midfielder going forward rather than a striker.

don't know if pogba will work as LW if ronaldo plays. need someone more mobile, making runs, opening up space.
on the other hand, it would be 2 big physical presences from goal kicks, and pogba can just cut in and spam crosses to the back post.
