Ed needs to work his magic and secure us an official cotton wool partner. It’s getting ridiculous.

Dalot plays at RB and Ashley plays wide right.

    DDG
    Dalot Victor Mike Shaw
    Pereira Scott Pogba
    Young Lukaku Alexis

    Subs used:
    Chong, Greenwood, Bailly

Does anyone know if this is the main game on NBC sports? Or perhaps NBC sports Gold?

If Martial, Mata and Lingard are all hurt I would love to see Chong start.

Fully aware it won't happen tbough

I think we'll draw. Palace are a tough team to beat and have done well against top 6 teams. Also we've got bare injuries.

    Pogba is our Bryan Robson.

But Cantona was the man who took us from challengers to champions. And now an entire city calls him 'God'.

The talisman we need is a player who can push this already talented squad over the top, much like RvP did in 2013. It's not about the other good players around him. It's about being the difference-maker from what came before.

Hmmmm not sure. We had a team full of leaders remember Bruce pallister hughes Irwin Robson Ince Schmeichal.... we likely would have won the league without the king with that team he transported us and gave us an aura of invincibility and class on top of all the leaders we had. Our current crop isn’t as good as that side yet to be looking for icing...

I think this will be a draw. Full team we beat them. But not with the injuries we have.

I mentioned earlier about Selhurst seeming to take over from Villa Park as Man. United's lucky premier league away ground.

Results since Palace came back up in 2013:

Palace 0-2 Man. United- Comfortable win in last weeks of Moyes. Nothing to see in this one.

Palace 1-2 Man. Unted- 78th minute Fellani winner. Reading the match report and seems DDG was very strong at 1-1.

Palace 0-0 Man. United- Bore draw under LVG.

Palace 1-2 Man. United- 88th minute Zlatan winner. Few dodgy calls from ref in this one.

Palace 2-3 Man. United- Where do you start with this one? Palace great for an hour and then Man. United quickly get back to 2-2. Just when you think it's a fair draw Matic hits that 25 yard rocket into top corner in 91st minute.

Palace certainly owe you one, are in form, have plenty of pace for counter and are starting to score goals at long last so very tricky one for Man. United. Will be tougher than Leicester away where you just about hung on for 0-1.

    1-1 or 2-1 Palace.

Crystal Palace is a very physical team. I'm afraid this is the wrong game for the youngsters.

If we can get a 1-0 win, try to go for that.

    Probably gonna be something like:

    -----------------DDG-------------------
    Young---Smalling---Lindelof----Shaw
    -----------------Scott------------------
    --------Fred------------Pogba---------
    ----------------Andreas----------------
    ---------Lukaku--------Sanchez------

Or he could push Young up and Play Dalot instead of Fred. I think its about time for Fred to start though. Time for him to step up.

Either way team should be good enough to win.

Agreed, except I'd swap Young and Dalot over - even though this wouldn't be a natural position for Dalot, I'd prefer Young at RB against Zaha. It would be good to see Chong and Greenwood, and perhaps Gomes as well, on the bench. Jones would also be a good sub to have as, in extremis, he could play in one of the DM roles.

I hope at least Martial is fit although then again he shouldn't be thrown out there not to risk worsening the injury.

Hopefully we go for a 442 diamond Sanchez and Lukaku up top - Pereira in the 10# role, McTominay at base and Pogba and Fred either side.

Palace away really isn’t the game to throw Chong into at all.

    Seems like are options are:

    de Gea
    Young Smalling Lindelof Shaw
    McTominay
    Andreas Fred
    Pogba
    Lukaku Sanchez

    de Gea
    Dalot Smalling Lindelof Shaw
    Andreas McTominay Pogba
    Young Lukaku Sanchez

    de Gea
    Bailly Smalling Lindelof
    Young Andreas McTominay Pogba Shaw
    Lukaku Sanchez

I'm hopeful Martial is on the bench if he only 'just' missed out of being part of the Liverpool match squad, but everyone who is injured now I'd rather we just let them heal up until at least Thursday morning and try to get through one game with what we have. We can assess the injuries then and see where we're at for Southampton. If players aren't back or even close, then I'd just leave them out of the PSG game and write it off. Arsenal is after that and we'll need as close to a full squad as possible to finish them off.

I think option one is the most likely so we can continue with the diamond and I expect Ole to have to trust the same 18-19 players for Palace and Southampton. We'll have to do a bit of a Spurs and win games ugly until our players are fit again.

Treatment room is a war-zone. So try complete the following statement that has already been said a thousand times: "Sanchez and Lukaku will have to _____ __."

Difficult game with Palace coming off the back of the win at Leicester. We should still have enough even with the injuries we have. Lukaku, Pogba, Alexis and maybe Martial back ought to be enough to get through Palace. Don't think it will be pretty but confident we get the win here.

Everytime people complain about either of these two starting we get a result anyway. Hilarious seeing people scrambling before Arsenal, and then before Chelsea, and then before Liverpool .

This comes at the worst possible time. Palace away has been difficult enough in and of itself in the last few years, never mind facing a confident, fired up Palace side in an evening fixture (which likely means a more difficult atmosphere to deal with), with half of our squad broken and two largely inexperienced midfielders (one of them being not particularly physical) likely starting. They both performed well against Liverpool, but it's one thing doing it under the adrenaline rush of a home derby game and an entirely different thing doing it routinely against a pumped up physical midable side, that has done really well against big teams this season, at their place.

It's why I think we possibly should start with 3 at the back, so Pogba and Pereira can go on forward and we're not as vulnerable defensively. Maybe put Dalot at wingback as well, since he offers more offensively than young. Not sure Ole's going to opt for that, I think we'll likely keep 4 at the back. Hopefully Martial is at least back on the bench.

Either way, this we'll likely be horrible to watch. Best case scenario we grind it out, I think.

Give Chong a go, I would feel incredibly nervous if we had a midfield 3 of Andreas, Mctominay and Fred. This is the reason why we produce talented youngsters, you never know he could do a Rashford and have a couple of great games. If he doesn't play now then when does he get an opportunity? He's already 19 and for a forward this is when you start to challenge for a first team spot.

This place loves bigging up the away games v the mid table sides. This and Watford away gets as much fear from this as Chelsea away!
2-0 to us. Palace won't be able to live with Pogba.

Palace's home record has been awful this season IIRC

I watched CP last game they weren't that good the scoreline flattered them.
    A win's a win!

They'll be confident going into this; clear of the relegation mob, winning when least expected, knowing we are under strength.

    We will win though!

It's going to be a hard game, that's for sure.
Palace are in decent form (or at least I'm under the impression that they are) and while we're in champion-form we're severely hurt by injuries.

Palace always up their game against us, especially night games for some reason. It's one of those weird feelings of football, mid-table clubs with small stadiums will always cause upsets during night games.

Hope Ole takes the bull by the horns and plays Chong.

It’s often the case due to injuries, players are thrown in the deep end and I think this could be Chong’s time. Good luck to him.

Obviously the squad is stretched thin just now, but OGS showed his mettle yesterday and I am sure he will put together a lineup for the Palace game that will be capable of getting the job done.
They will be on a high after thumping Leicester at the weekend so this will be a tough game.

Totally impossible to predict a team now without an injury update (including on Greenwood). If Martial recovers we should be Ok still, but without we will need to start a youngster in attack

was impressed by Pereira and McTominay and they didn't look out of place

we need Pogba at the sharp end of our attack - maybe we stick to the diamond but I think it might be more useful to have Dalot/Sanchez in wide attacking positions where they can help out at the back

thought Sanchez was very decent when coming on so hoping he can improve his impact

    --------------------------DDG-----------------------------
    Young--------Smalling--------------Lindelof----------Shaw
    -------------------------McTominay----------------------
    -----------------Pereira--------------Pogba--------------
    Dalot-------------------Lukaku------------------Sanchez

Zaha against Young will be interesting! I would have gone with Dalot but given the inexperienced lineup we have to go with, selecting Young is perhaps inevitable.

I am not sure Palace are the team to committ lots of players forward playing against us so that lowers the need to have fast counter attacking players but we also dont have anyone creative enough to unlock packed defences.
