If people think he is a bad player should rewatch the final vs Ajax or the games when he was used as a 3rd CB. He is just not suited as a full back in PL. He was never awful like Young has been there though, only in a few games.
We really derailed his career to recoup money, then gave him away.
I'm surprised someone actually paid money for Darmian. Some posters even thought he would go to a big club but it was never happening.

Nah all players have purple patches even buttner had decent games.
Darmian has had good runs like the tail end of 16/17 but for the vast majority of the last 4 years he’s been absolutely dreadful.
If people think otherwise then they have to consider the fact he couldn’t even displace former wingers in their mid 30’s like Valencia and Young. That’s the harsh reality of just how good Matteo Darmian is.
