I dont see Perez paying up to £50 m for a goal keeper. The only reason they want De Gea is hes Spanish number 1 GK , that itself would be a very good advertisement .

if he was a WC attacker no doubt they would pay double that price tag.

Cliché but keeping De Gea would be like a signing in itself given so many were/are convinced he's off

Romero has stated his intention of staying even as a numero dos.
Would make sense. He already expressed his gratitude to be given the chance to win EL even though a few years ago he was back up in Serie B and then a free agent with no huge interest in his service.

So, what you're saying is United have no say in this? Let's not forget the player is contracted for 3 more years and United doesn't want/have to sell.
:confused::confused: how did you reach that conclusion

It doesn't change the situation in the slightest. The moment Real Madrid put in an offer United are prepared to accept, then De Gea goes. It is that simple. Are they prepared to make a big enough offer ? I would suggest probably not. Not much need for glamour signings when you've won La Liga and in CL final, even with a presidential election this summer, though not sure there are other candidates.
history tells you, all they need is the presidential election (hopefully, Trump will win - oh, hang on)

Would be excellent news if he was to stay. I'd like Romero to get lots of game-time though, not in the CL (DDG for that and the league) but all domestic cup games regardless of our opposition. It's the least we could give the lad.

My gut tells me he will stay another season. I can't see him staying much longer than that. He's still got plenty of time to go play for Madrid.

The valuation of DDG when Madrid were about to sign him was before the market exploded. If he leaves it will be for more like 50m or 60m.

Im a local lad and obviously I can't imagine why anyone would leave United. I'd love to become a legend at this club even if it meant winning less then at others. So If I was De Gea I'd stay but I can see why he would move. Hope he doesn't though. A Jose defence with De Gea behind it would be amazing to watch

With this Ederson deal hitting the £40m to £45m mark I reckon De Geas value must have rocketed £10m to £20m overnight. If Ederson is worth that then one of the best two keepers in the world with at least another 12 years at the very top has to be worth £65 to £75m.

I couldn't see Madrid paying that but with a few players there that'd we'd happily take I don't think any De Gea deal was ever going to be straight cash.

All the Spanish sources are saying Madrid has gone off De Gea because of price and Navas' form

Hoping it is true, but we will see I suppose.

The prices in the market keep going up, so the fee we can ask for will go up as long as he is on a long term contract.

I think there is a big difference in both clubs valuation of the player, so I think he's staying.

This is all considering he still wants to leave, maybe with CL football next year he would like to stay another year anyways.

Probably that's just paper talk. Surely, they don't want to upset Navas just before one of the most important games for Real over the last decade.

Whatever Ederson's price is double it for De Gea at least

It doesn't appear that signing DDG is particularly exciting from Madrid's perspective. He's far more important for us, Madrid have world class players all over the pitch, and Navas is a very good goalkeeper.

We should pull out all the stops to keep him, Madrid don't have unlimited funds, and given the cost of Ederson, we would legitimately demand £60-70m. But quite frankly that wouldn't tempt me if a replacement would cost £30-50m.

Given we will get a new captain, I would like him to take the armband when Herrera and Valencia are not playing (assuming that's our Capt/ Vice Capt next year).

I think Navas' end of season form, DDG refusing to push for a transfer and our valuation are all the determining factors as to why Real have given up with this

Problem is Navas is always going to have dodgy patches of form because he's not a great goalkeeper so this is just going to be an annual thing. Hopefully Pereira lives up to his potential so if the day does come that DDG does leave he'll be ready to take over

He better stay now.

With Ederson going to city, Donnaruma attracting interest and probably leaving Milan, our list of viable replacements is becoming thinner. Also if we're trying to sign Griezmann, I can't see Atletico selling us Oblak as well.

Obviously want to keep him, think we have a good chance of doing so. If we can't, we need to act quickly and snap up donarumma, and share his game time with Romero until he's ready to be number 1.

There would be a lot of pressure on donarumma and he'd make mistakes early on just as Dave did.

Atletico sold Luiz and Costa to Chelsea in one summer
Monaco are about to sell Silva and Mendy to City in one summer

It does happen but yeah Dave ain't going anywhere now

Agree 100%, any ploy from Madrid about low transfer fee cause he is a keeper has just been blown out the water. They will either have to really pay up or he stays on.

Albeit with a bit of luck in previous years, United really hold all the cards. We will either get to keep Dave or Madrid will have to pay overs big time. Quite comfortable with either result at this moment.

Lads, dont worry! I had a chat with De Gea at Ajax Europa league final game and he gave me thumbs up when I told him to stay.
You can see that on the video he gives me a thumbs up lol.

Nah, it's just that Navas has been incredible in the last two months, just as he was all season last year. The only reason we were looking at a keeper earlier was because Keylor was pretty shakey, but it was probably down to regaining form after the injury

Even Pedrerol admitted he'd been doing a campaign against Keylor for most of the season but the last two months shut him up. And Pedrerol is the Mouth of Sauron...

He's not that bothered about leaving United, I don't see him forcing a move.

If they want a better keeper than Ederson, they pay us more than £50-60million or DDG stays as our #1

It is now, quite simply, that straight forward.

Its not directly quoted from him. Positive, sure - but only definative if quoted from the man himself. We should give him a new 5 year contract and make him vice captain.
